Responsibilities of DBE• According to the draft Integrated Programme of
Action for Early Childhood Development (Draft Zero) the DBE has the following responsibilities:– Implementation of Education White Paper 5
• Grade R• Birth to four years
– Development of curriculum• Grade R• Birth to four
– Development of training and stimulation material– Training of ECD practitioners and payment of stipends
(EPWP)
