• A "hook”– Get the Investor's attention with a "hookhook." A statement or
question that piques their interest to want to hear more.
• About 150-225 words– Your pitch should go no longer than 60 seconds60 seconds.
• Passion– Investors expect energyenergy and dedication from
entrepreneurs.
• A request– At the end of your pitch, you must ask for somethingask for something. Do
you want their business card, to schedule a full presentation, to ask for a referral?

- What am I trying to convey?- What are the essential facts, ideas, opinions, attitudes, pictures?- What do I want to share?
- Given the aims, target audience and content, how shall I most effectively acheive those aims?- Shall I use words, pictures, audio, video, exhibition, etc.?- What style shall I use?- How do I want to relate to the audience? formal or informal? Personal or impersonal? conventional or unconventional? simple or complex?- How shall I 'code' all of these ideas most effectively to be 'decoded' by the audience?
- What outcome do I want?- What changes do I want to create in the audience?- How will I judge wether it has been effective?
- Has the whole process of production and presentation achieved the expected results?
