Doing Research (skills and practice)
1. identify topics that are socially and culturally relevant
2. perform a solid literature review
3. formulate research questions
4. decide on the most appropriate research approach
5. choose the most relevant data collection instruments (e.g. questionnaire, interview, observation)
6. analyze research data with appropriate techniques (quantitative (statistics) and/or qualitative (interpretative)
7. evaluate research outcomes
8. turn research findings into a paper / article

each course = 6 ECTS
1 ECTS = 28 hrs | one course = 168 hrs
includes:
• 12-14 classes
• preparation
• assignments
• exam/paper
60 ECTS in one year comparable
with a 40 hr (work)week
Workload and exams
grade can be based on:
• a written exam
• an assignment or a series of
assignments (individual or group)
• a paper or article
• a presentation
• a portfolio
• combinations of the above

Non-Dutch nationality and/or diploma
• Copy of diploma* + transcript(s)
• Thesis or essay written in English
• CV
• Motivation letter
• Academic IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge Proficiency Examination certificate (check website for criteria for exemption)
• Statistics and Methodology checklist (check website)
• Scan of passport
* If not yet obtained: a certified copy of your most recent transcript + a list of courses you still need to finish

acknowledged HBO Bachelor (Applied Sciences) of four years
(240 ECTS)
acknowledged academic Bachelor
Admissions Committee decides upon admission on an individual basis
within 6 weeks
You receive a letter saying
1) you are:
• not admitted, or
• unconditionally admitted, or
• conditionally admitted
2) what courses your Premaster’s program consists of
After being admitted, you still need to register! (check website)
