at the entrances of Church. This year’s goal is to sell 4,000 raffle tickets.

SELL THOSE RAFFLE TICKETS!!!!! We ask that you return your sold tickets and money to the Parish Office dur-ing office hours or put in an envelope marked “PICNIC” and drop in the collection basket. More tickets available upon request. Any unsold tickets need to be returned at your earliest convenience. ITEMS NEEDED: We are asking for donations of tea bags, lemonade mix (no pink), bottled water, canned soft drinks, rolls of clear cellophane wrap (can be found in craft section at K’Mart, Walmart, or Hobby Lobby) or will ac-cept cash donations to help purchase these items. All items can be placed in the boxes located at the entrances of church or bring by the Parish Office. The SILENT AUCTION BOOTH needs empty baskets of all sizes. Also need baskets brought in at your earliest con-venience for booth (Sports Theme, Garden, Fishing, Golf, Beach, Laundry, Restaurant, Car Wash etc.). If you want to donate items for a basket, we can put it together for you, or you can make a cash donation. Questions, call the Parish Office at 270-684-6888. The COUNTRY STORE is in need of donated items. Any donations are greatly appreciated! The CAKE WHEEL needs cakes galore for us to have plenty to go around. We are asking that each family bring at least one cake. Please bring these the morning of the picnic and leave them in the Parish Hall. PICNIC CAKE BAKING DAY: The Parish will have their Annual Cake Baking Day on Thursday, June 1st at 1:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Please bring cake mixes, frosting, eggs, milk, oils, mixing bowls, spoons, bundt pans, disposable pans, etc. Want to donate cake mixes and frostings, these can be dropped by the Parish Office. PICNIC CAKE FROSTING & POTATO PEELING: The Parish will have their Annual Picnic Cake Frosting and Potato Peeling Day on Friday, June 2nd at 1:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. We will be frosting the cakes we made on Thurs-day and peel potatoes to be used for burgoo. Bring your favorite potato peelers or knives. THINK RED!!! We ask that everyone wear red. We still have a few picnic t-shirts left over from last year. Sizes that are available: Small and Large—$7.00 each, 2X—$8.00 each. Call before coming by, selection is limited. POSTERBOARD is available in the Parish Office for those who need to make new sign for their booths. PICNIC STANDS will be put up on Thursday, June 1st at 5:30 p.m. Stand Managers are responsible for getting their stands up and ready. All booths open at 3:00 p.m. Serving starts at 4:00 p.m. CONGRATULATIONS to Fr. Suneesh, our 5th week incentive prize winner. Fr. Suneesh won a gift certificate to Donatos Pizza. SIGN-UP SHEETS are available at the entrances of church now through the weekend of May 27-28 for Picnic Workers ONLY to place their orders for burgoo, chicken, pork or mutton. Orders will be available for pick-up after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3rd. Pay when you pick-up your order.

SCRIPTURE READINGS Readings for next weekend will be Acts 1:12-14; 1 Peter 4:13-16; John 17:1-11. We invite you to read and study these passages for your own reflection as we prepare for the liturgy we will celebrate as a parish community.

NCYC (NATIONAL CATHOLIC YOUTH CONFERENCE)

This year’s NCYC will be held November 16-18, in Indianapolis for any high school youth wishing to attend. We need to know how many of our youth will be attending. Please let Sr. Rosanne know ASAP (email: [email protected] or call the Parish Office at 270-684-6888). We will have a Parent/Youth Meeting when Fr. Suneesh returns from India. All this information needs to be in by June 30, 2017.

BULLETIN COVER This week’s bulletin cover features those who received their First Communion here at Precious Blood on April 23rd.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL This year’s Vacation Bible School (Pre-Kindergarten through Sixth Grade) is scheduled for the week of June 19-23, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. We will provide a free meal for the children from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. This meal is provided by through the City Schools System. First come, first serve basis.

2ND ANNUAL ST. BENEDICT’S GOLF SCRAMBLE

This event supports our ministry and allows us to continue growing. Funds received from this golf outing will help to maximize our services provided to homeless men this year!.

Saturday, June 17th, 8:00am Shotgun start at Panther Creek Golf Club. Only $240 a team. Register your team by filling out a registration form (Available in the Parish Office) and mail along with a check to: St. Benedict Homeless Shelter at 1001 West 7th Street, Owensboro, KY 42301 or hand deliver between 8:00am and 4:00pm. HOLIDAY WORLD TRIP This year’s Confirmation/Server’s Trip to Holiday World will be Thursday, June 15th. We will leave from Precious Blood’s parking lot at 8:30 a.m. We will arrive back at Precious Blood around 7:00 p.m. Permission forms are due back by June 9th. You will need spending money for food, games and souvenirs. Admission to the park will be taken care of by the Parish.

DCPS EXPLORATION STATION SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAM

When: Tuesdays only—June 6, 13, 20, 27, July 11, 18, 25 Where: Precious Blood Catholic Church Parking Lot Time: 4:30-7:00 p.m. The Exploration Station is a program designed for students to practice reading skills while having fun. The Exploration Station brings technology to the neighbor-hood to make summer a fun, learning experience for every child. A free meal will be provided for children 18 and younger.
