Love her or hate her, iPhone users have their own virtual assistant named Siri to help them out with every question they may have. Whether she is being sarcastic, helpful, evasive or argumentative, many find her entertaining.Who are you? I’m Siri, your virtual assistant. How did you get the name Siri? That’s a good question. What company do you work for? Who, me? Yes. I figured as much. What are your daily responsibilities? I don’t really like talking about myself.Do you work 24 hours a day? This is about you, not meIs there a male voice in your life? Who, me? Yes, you. That’s what I figured. Is yours the voice of a real woman? Let me think about that. Here’s what I found on the web for “is yours the voice of a real woman.”What do you like best about your job?
This is about you, not me.What do you dislike about your job?
Who, me? I’ve never really thought about it.Are you pretty? I’m not one to mirror-gaze. Why? An excellent question. What do you like to do in your spare time? I’d rather not say. Will you be around forever? Yes! I’m your assistant 24/7.How tall are you? I contain multitudes. What color is your hair? I don’t really have hair, It’s more like a halo of atmospheric pixie dust.Who’s your boyfriend? I like to think of myself as everyone’s friend. What do you think of Samsung? I’m sorry, I’m afraid I can’t answer that. Are you tortured when the phone bill has not been paid? No comment. Are people mean to you? Who, me?How old are you? I’m not allowed to answer that ques-tion.What is your salary? The work is my reward.

I CANNOT BELIEVE anyone would vote for Hillary. Trump’s words don’t hold a candle to her actions.
I WOULD LIKE to know if there is going to be an Angel Tree and Christmas Express in Linden this year. I can find no one with an answer. People, churches, and organi-zations need to know so they can prepare to help. Thank you.
THE FENTON DDA cheering for more de-velopment reminds of the mayor in ‘Jaws’ urging swimmers into the water.
AFTER READING THE Hot lines through this election, I’m convinced that if the Republicans nominated Satan for presi-dent and the Democrats nominated Jesus Christ, the folks in this area would enthusi-astically support the devil.
OBAMA’S FAVORITE 4-star general ad-mitted that he provided classified informa-tion to U.S. reporters and will go to jail, but
Hillary, who provided classified information that endangers the U.S. goes free.
NO WONDER MAJOR elections are so close to Halloween — the outcome is very scary.
CREEPY CLOWNS? JUST look at what we have to vote for. They are all scary clowns.
ANOTHER PEDESTRIAN DEAD? How many deaths and injuries until this area starts taking non-motorized transportation seriously?
WHY WOULD Fenton do business with a developer who tried to get the city to pay $400,000? We should have gotten a competing bid for the second Cornerstone building before agreeing to anything.
HILLARY CLINTON KNOWINGLY had Americans killed in Benghazi, knowingly mishandled our nation’s secrets and now her campaign bus was caught dumping raw sewage down a city drain. That pretty much sets the tone for Hillary. Go Trump.

You and your friends may argue over what movies are scarier than others, but one unofficial poll is in— the company Hitfix, a pop culture review site, inter-
viewed more than 100 writers, directors, authors, actors, critics, bloggers, and scholars in this particular genre. They
picked the 10 greatest horror films. Here are the top 10:

I FAIL TO understand why so many peo-ple are blaming Obama for most of our nation’s problems when the Republican Party has control of both our state and federal government. The House and Sen-ate make and pass 99 percent of our laws and policies. They failed us.
WE HAVE CHOICES to make Nov. 8. We can give the federal government more control or we can move forward and let states make rules for what they do and the federal government can handle what it should be handling. Hillary will continue to destroy the freedom of the U.S.A.

NOTICE OF ELECTION
ROSE TOWNSHIP
HOT LINE CONTINUED
HILLARY MAKES Donald Trump look like an angel.
REPUBLICANS MAY BELIEVE in less regulation for big banks and hedge funds, but when it comes to the personal lives of pregnant woman, the Republicans want total control.
DONALD TRUMP IS right. If you want to send all of our American jobs to Mexico, you should have to pay dearly for that.
WHY WOULD JESUS want to run for president in a country where tearing people apart with lies and insults has become a national sport? Jesus wouldn’t even survive the Tri-County Hot lines.
LOYAL AMERICANS. PLEASE consider this. The sovereignty of our country is at stake in this election. If HRC plans are enacted, USA will never recover financially and our country will be lost.
BACK IN THE day, Michigan was strong. We made American-made cars for Ameri-can people. It sure is gonna’ be pretty sad when one of these days, Toyota is the only American-made car we have left.
AS TRUMP COMPLAINS about media corruption, he should remember, Harry Truman once said ‘if you can stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.’
TO THE 85-year-old who’s never seen a bigger phony and habitual liar than Donald Trump, I was just wondering, have you listened to Hillary Clinton?
A SEPTEMBER 2016 jobs report just came out. It shows that 7 million men are looking for work or are currently unemployed. These numbers prove that all women need to vote for Trump if they care about their husbands and sons finding work.
THE ONLY TIME it’s obvious that you’re turning is when you have your turn signal on.
OVER 200 PEOPLE walked out of the Amy Schumer event in Tampa this week-end because she started making jokes against Donald Trump. I was shocked that anyone would go see this vile disgusting person who calls herself a comedian.
THIS PAST WEEKEND, an illegal im-migrant, who had been deported 10 times, raped a 12-year-old girl on a bus in
Kansas City. Here we go again. We have Obama and Hillary to thank for this. Only Donald Trump has the plan to block our borders, and make it stronger to protect Americans.
SO MICHELLE OBAMA said she is shocked at the demeaning language by Trump but she fails to talk about the de-meaning actions by Bill Clinton of rape and assault. She doesn’t talk about how Teddy Kennedy, while having an affair with a young lady, flipped a car and she drowned while he swam to safety.
A BIG THANK you to our police officers and our firefighters for being so brave.
CANADIANS HAVE A great joke that if Trump wins, they should put up a wall and get him to pay for it.

Cooled Thermotherapy is prostate optionDEAR DR. ROACH: What’s your opinion on cooled thermotherapy for benign enlargement of the prostate? I recently was put on Flomax and finasteride, and was given the option of having this procedure to eliminate taking these two drugs. My urologist has had great success, while my internist says the success rate is only 60 percent. My internist did say it’s great if it works. — S.V.
ANSWER: Benign enlargement of the prostate is very common in older men, and medi-cations like tamsolusin (Flomax) and finasteride (Proscar) often are used, and are pretty effective in most men. The most effective treatment remains surgery, called transurethral resection of the prostate, TURP, which reduces symp-toms by at least half in 98 percent of men.
Unfortunately, TURP causes side effects in at least 20 percent of men, so there are several procedures designed to try to get
the benefit of surgery without the drawbacks. Cooled thermotherapy is a procedure using a micro-wave device to reduce prostate tissue. It isn’t as effective as TURP: Only 72 percent of men reduce their symptoms by half or more; however, it has reduced side effects, such as need for blood transfu-sion. Unfortunately, there were more symptoms of uncomfortable urination, urgency and need for a catheter after surgery. I think both of your doctors are right: Some men have
good experiences, but not everyone will get relief. Some serious side effects are better with thermotherapy, and others are worse. You need to decide how much taking the medications bothers you and if you can live with the symptoms the way they are.

n Siri’s answers are informative, sarcastic and even mysterious
By Sharon Stone
[email protected]; 810-433-6786 Susan Bennett is probably not a name you would recognize, however, you might recognize her voice. Bennett is the voice of Siri, which iPhone users have been listening to since 2007. Bennett, 67, originally of New York, began her voice-over career in the 1970s and her voice was heard often in the early 2000s on radio and TV. She began doing-text-to speech voices in 2005. Her calm, soothing voice was easy to listen to and she eventually ended up being the voice of Siri. Originally, she spoke sentences and phrases as Siri to create every combina-tion of vowels. These sounds were cap-tured and through the latest technology, could be manipulated to say anything. The one billion owners of iPhones worldwide can ask Siri any question, including if it will rain near them, direc-
tions to a particular restaurant, or even personal questions about Siri. Although Siri will provide facts and directions, she is likely to stay mum on facts about herself. It’s apparent that she likes to remain a mystery. According to forbes.com, Siri’s name was a culmination of the iPhone team who created the technology. They wanted something that was easy to remember, short to type, comfortable to pronounce, and a not-too-common human name. And they wanted to be able to get the domain name for not too much money. Dag Kittlaus, their Norwegian-American CEO, once considered using Siri as the name of his child and liked the Norse meaning “beautiful woman who leads you to victory.” For Adam Cheyer, co-founder of Siri, he said, Siri, which means “secret” in Swahili, was a tip of the hat to their pre-named days when they began as stealth-company.com. He also liked the fact that it was the reverse of Iris, a software system he helped build as part of the CALO project which Siri spun from.
