INTROIT Sing a New Song to the Lord Wilson
OPENING PRAYER
*HYMN Jesus Shall Reign UM Hymnal, 157
PROCLAMATION AND RESPONSE
*AFFIRMATION The Apostle’s Creed UM Hymnal, 881 I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he arose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
*GLORIA PATRI Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, in now, and ever shall be, world without end.
PSALTER from Psalm 67 May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face to shine upon us
that your way may be known upon earth,
your saving power among all nations.
Let the peoples praise you, O God;
let all the peoples praise you.
Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
Let all the peoples praise you.
Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
for you judge the peoples with equity
and guide the nations upon earth.
Let the peoples praise you, O God;
let all the peoples praise you.
CHORUS Jesus, Name Above All Names Hearn Jesus, name above all names,
Beautiful Savior, glorious Lord,
Emmanuel, God is with us,
Blessed Redeemer, living Word.
CALL TO PRAYER The Lord be with you.
And also with you. Let us pray.
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
THE LORD’S PRAYER UM Hymnal, 895 Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
And the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
WORSHIPING GOD WITH OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS

ANTHEM All Things Bright and Beautiful Rutter
SERMON Shall We Gather at the River
RESPONSE The Covenant Prayer UM Hymnal, 607 I am no longer my own, but thine.
Put me to what thou will, rank me with whom thou wilt.
Put me to doing, put me to suffering.
Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee,
exalted for thee or brought low by thee.
Let me be full, let me be empty.
Let me have all things, let me have nothing.
I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal.
And now, O glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it.
And the covenant which I have made on earth,
let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.

Pennies for Zoe is today! FIRST PLACE WILL MEET TOMORROW AT 10:00 am. Wonderful Wednesday Afterschool Program will have their “End of the Year Party”
on Wednesday, May 29, at 5:30 pm in the Bynum Building. All family and friends are
invited. The children will sing and we will end with a hot dog supper.
252 “Family Experience” is Sunday, June 9 at 9:30 am in Room 302
(room next to the nursery). This is a fun time for the whole family (children,
parents, grandparents, etc.) to get together to learn this month’s scripture
and life app. We will have a light breakfast, coffee, juice, and water. Dress
casually. There will be time for parents to socialize and ask questions
afterwards while the children go to Sunday School.
Vacation Bible School is the week of July 29-August 2, 9:00 am to 12 noon at
First United Methodist Church. We are thrilled to be working with First Baptist
and First Presbyterian Churches. Our theme this year is “To Mars and Beyond”—we will help kids discover the wonders of God’s universe. We need lots of volunteers for decorating, music, science center, crafts, snacks, registration table, open and closing assembly, age group leaders to walk the children to the different centers, and nursery.
Please call or email Mary Griffith if you can volunteer for VBS.
