PENDAHULUAN
Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) adalah metode untuk menciptakan jaringan-jaringan yang secara logika tersusun sendiri-sendiri. VLAN sendiri berada dalam jaringan Local Area Network (LAN), sehingga dalam jaringan (LAN) bisa terdapat satu atau lebih VLAN. Dengan demikian kita dapat mengambil kesimpulan bahwa dalam dalam suatu jaringan, kita dapat membuat lagi satu atau lebih jaringan (jaringan di dalam jaringan).
VTP merupakan protokol milik (proprietary) Cicso yang memungkinkan switch-switch Cisco (yang terhubung) saling bertukar informasi. VTP memudahkan proses konfigurasi secara otomatis antar sesama switch. Bayangkan, jika sebuah network memiliki puluhan switch yang saling terhubung. Setiap switch menggunakan minimal sebuah port yang ditempatkan pada satu VLAN. VTP bekerja pada layer 2.
Ada 3 mode VTP yang disediakan, yaitu:
1. Server mode
2. Client mode
3. Transparent mode
Spanning tree Protokol merupakan sebuah protokol yang berada di jaringan switch yang memungkinkan semua pernagkat untuk berkomunikasi satu sama lain agar dapat mendeteksi dan mengelola redundant link dalam jaringan. Ini adalah protokol manajemen link yang menyediakan redundansi sementara mencegah perulangan yang tidak diinginkan dalam jaringan. STP dapat menyediakan redundansi jalan dengan mendefinisikan sebuah tree yang membentang di semua switch dalam jaringan yang diperpanjang.

KESIMPULAN
Dari hasil pratikum Konfigurasi VLAN, VTP, dan STP pada Packet Tracert yang kita telah lakukan ini maka kita dapat mengetahui perbedaan, konsep dan cara kerja antara VLAN, VTP dan STP kita juga dapat melakukan konfigurasi topologi VLAN, VTP dan STP pada topologi implementasi SMKN 1 CIMAHI ini.
