PAA Record Keeping Recordkeeping is an essential part of offering Survey Courses at all levels.

(Answers Appendix B)

FORMS are included (Student Forms - Appendix D)

1. Each MODULE that a student completes is recorded.

2. The on going record of modules completed by each student is to be recorded on individual recording sheets and at the end of each term AND:

1. Completed modules are entered on Sask. Student Data System (SDS) – if taken more than once they can be recorded again.

2. Course completion is entered onto the MAT and;3. An updated PAA Modules Completed Form is added to the student’s

portfolio binder at the end of each school year.

Student & PortfoliosPortfolio Development ---Students are expected to begin to collect items and save copies or originals in Portfolio Binders kept safe and confidential at the schools in the classroom.

WHY? How is this useful?

Words that teachers use when asked about student development and teaching:•Self esteem•Self awareness•Strength based

For CAREER Development Evidence to support strengths and skills

are essential to begin to think about one’s potential and possibilities.

MY Personal PortfolioFrom grades 6-9 --- Portfolio development is to focus on themTHE PERSONAL PORTFOLIO – PAA grade 7-9Step 1 --- Is to keep adding to something like a scrapbook with things about themselves, activities, achievements, etc. and things that interest them. This can also include PAA projects – taking pictures of the student’s project or pictures of the student working in the various PAA labs.

Step 2 is to have students add reflective commentaries beside the entries to explain what the entry is about and what the student was doing. It is also useful for the student to comment on if it was something they liked doing.

•In grade 7-9 the commentaries would include the use of employment or essential skills language which will assist the student to identify th skills that they used in the activity they were engaged in.

In Grade 9 – continuing to add entries and now sorting and creating a CAREER PORTFOLIO that will be of use in high school and future planning for post secondary school, part-time or full time employment opportunities.
