th5 INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

The unprecedented dynamic development of human society in the last century has resulted in the necessity for the sustainable management of the resources on the economic, social and environmental level. The increasing number of activities and events, both local and global, relating to various aspects of managing natural resources with the aim of ensuring sustainable development from technological, social, ecologic to economic and political points of view, confirm our belief that the problems existing in this sphere are both authentic and permanent.

Concept of Sustainable development has already been included as the priority in the policy of the countries around the world.

Mankind has never before encountered such challenges as the use of natural resources, human rights or economic development. Strategic resources are still exploited intensively with the significant consequences on the environment evident at the local and at the global level.

The rational and sustainable use of natural resources, especially the non-renewable ones, is becoming more evident worldwide. Several decades ago, the warnings against the uncontrollable industrial growth caused by the intensive exploitation of reserves of non-renewable mineral resources and the consequent increase in environmental pollution were somewhat opposed by the researchers. Today, however, no one denies them.

At the four previous symposiums this issue was the main interest of a wide circle of researchers whose papers were presented and printed in the Proceedings of the Symposium.

This year, the Faculty of Management in Zajecar is continuing this affirmative practice of organizing scientific symposiums which greatly contribute to the quality and realization of the accredited PhD studies in Economics and Management of Natural Resources, the joint international PhD program with LUM University, Bari, Italy.

Authors are: university teachers, researchers from institutes, industry experts and master and doctoral students.

Number of authors per paper is limited to THREE.

The papers which do not correspond to the instructions will not be taken into consideration.
