In addition to these categories, we realize that autism has many co-morbidities. Children with autism are more likely to also have XXXXX when compared to the general population. An important question is whether these are etiologically independent, or whether they are based on the same etiology, which would mean that the presences of these co-morbidities might provide clues to specific autism categories or subtypes.
