I started off advertising my beats. I decided to advertise Dr. Dre beats because I own a pair of my own so I could easily take pictures of them (primary source). I decided to out them in a round background then a square because when looking at existing magazine, it is conventional when advertising competition, it is put in a circle.

• I found doing the content page was the most difficult due to the layout of the page. I wanted it to look clean-cut instead of messy. I also wanted to keep it to a maximum of 3 colours, the colours I used was black, red and grey. I thought the grey background went nicely because it I didn’t have a background it would like boring and dull. As you can see I have put a background at the top which I decided to do for the other sub-heading, I did this because I was to follow through the black background. I went for a white font because it contrast nicely against the black.

• It is important for the reader to know where each page is so I decided to make the page numbers bold and bright. i decided to choose red because it went with the theme and I wanted the numbers to be noticeable.

• I started to fill in where everything is. I decided to put the headings in capital to emphasise each topics and put the extra detail in smaller font. This is a conventional device done in many magazines.

• After completely the writing, I to choose my pictures. I decided to use the ‘Features’ pictures because these are the main articles. Conventionally I put the page numbers on the pictures so readers can establish them. I also decided to keep it the same colour as the other page numbers.

• This is my final piece of my contents page. I shadowed the pictures to give a 3 dimension look and I’ve also challenge conventions by adding a cut-out image. He looks very indie and thought it was a great place to put it.
