After successful completion of copying process, NVS2500 performs verification for comparing the file on the card and the file on the hard disk for helping to determine whether data was accurately copied

Each time you plug-in the external USB HD to NVS2500, it syncs at any files recorded since the last sync, will be transferred. Automatically compare the video folders by file names and sizes.

* Select [External Device] under Preview menu and plug-in the USB HD to NVS2500. You can preview video clips that stored on external USB HD directly on the LCD

* Re-insert a memory card into NVS2500’s card slot and it’s now safe to delete contents on a memory card for reuse. It’s very unlikely that the two separate hard disk drives fail at the same time.

After successful completion of copying process, NVS2500 shuts down automatically after few seconds to reserve battery power. Next time you power on the NVS2500, it displays a result of previous backup status for helping you to determine whether you can safely delete the contents of memory card.

During the boot sequence, NVS2500 runs a surface scan and displays a warning if there were any errors found on internal hard disk drive.

Jammed portion is discarded but you can use rest of footage.

Save a jammed tape

Cut out any sections of tape that got mangled and retape.

If a video footage contains a bad sector, you cannot get the clips onto your computer to edit.NVS2500 performs recovery of the bad sectors and make it to re-useable file.During its recovery process, few frames may be lost but you can use the rest of good frames to copy or edit on your NLE system.

NOTICE

New Features (ver. 1.20)With new Firmware v1.20 release, it added new features for users’ convenience and to increase safety of data.

If Bad Sector found in a selected folder, it copies data to a safe cluster area.At this point, the data within bad sectors will not be repaired but will be filled by 0 or other valid values. Usually, when bad sector is detected in a video file, it becomes inaccessible or unusable. Even in this case, it provides a feature to save the damaged portion of video file to a valid file.

During backing up, scan for the existence of bad sectors, then copying data to a good (safe) cluster area.

Deletes TMP folder that stored temporary files. The TMP folder created when backup failed. The files stored in TMP folder are not normal and recommended it to delete.

BD History

At the end of each copy, NVS2500 generates INDEX file that contains a decoded frame and useful meta data.The INDEX file is in the form of .html and can be easily opened with any web browsers.

The INDEX file (“NEXTOIDX.HTM”) is located on the root directory of NVS2500.
