Course Overview and ObjectivesThe areas included in the present syllabus aim at strengthening the skills prerequisite to placement. Therefore, in IVsemester an intensive training of Interpersonal Skills including Leadership Skills, Time Management, Positive thinkingand Effective Listening is included. The level and scope of Group Discussion and Personal Interview is also advancedand wide in this semester’s training. In Analytical Skills, the students are required to analyze a magazine article, amovie and a book and they are to give Power Point Presentations on these. Keeping in perspective the GroupDiscussion and Personal Interview, the student have to face during recruitment process, General Awareness, GeneralKnowledge, General Science, Puzzles and Vocabulary building activities are included in the syllabus. The sessions toacquire the knowledge about how to acquire information from Internet, Magazines and Journals are targeted to makethe students aware of the knowledge sources apart from their textbooks. At regular intervals mock drills of GroupDiscussion and Personal Interview are held. Through quizzes, presentations, comprehension and group tasks, lot ofactivities are conducted.

MBX04301 Project Study with Viva Voce 2 Credits [LTP: 0-0-4]

Objective:

Project Study and Viva Voce is a paper on project study. The project is real life short term corporate study.The candidate will be allotted the project by the faculty of the institute in consultation with the Director /Principal of the institute. There will be external examiner to be selected by the Director / Principal of theinstitute from the panel of examiners, proposed by BOS and approved by the Vice Chancellor. The studentwill submit written report and make an oral presentation before a panel of internal examiner (Director /Principal of the institute or his or her nominee) and external examiner (to be appointed by Director /Principal of the institute from a panel proposed by the board of studies and approved by the Vice Chancellorof PU) the assessment of the report and its presentation will be jointly done by the internal and externalexaminer.

The Candidate shall be required to submit a Project Study report based on primary data. The project will besubmitted before, the end of 4th Semester. The project Report will include one chapter on the Organizationconcerning which the research has been selected: The chapter on Organization will deal with the brief historyof the organization, Organizational structure, the performance of the organization, Products/services and theoverall performance and problems of the organization. Other chapter’s will be related to the researchproblem of the project report. The average size of the project report ordinarily will be – 125 to 150 typed onthesis size paper, in 1.5 space, Arial, and 11 size font. The report should be well documented and supportedby relevant tables, charts, diagrams and bibliography.
