Photosensitive seizure warning

Some people may experience photosensitive seizures or a loss of conscious-ness when they encounter certain kinds of visual stimulation in day-to-day life, such as flickering lights or luminous patterns. Such people also risk experiencing seizures when watching TV or playing video games. This can also happen without any previous history of related health problems or symptoms of epilepsy. The following symptoms are characteristic of photosensitive seizures: blurred vision, twitching eyes or face, trembling arms or legs, a feeling of disorientation, confusion, or a temporary loss of orientation. During a photo-sensitive seizure, loss of consciousness or convulsions can lead to serious injury, as the symptoms often begin with a fall. Stop playing immediately if you notice any of the symptoms described above. It is strongly advised that parents supervise their children while they play video games, and children and young adults are often more sensitive to photosensitive seizures than adults.

If you show any of these symptoms, STOP PLAYING THE GAME IMMEDIA-TELY AND SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. Parents and guardians should supervi-se children and ask them if they have experienced one or more of the above symptoms.

Installation and Start

NOTICE: This product requires your acceptance of the Steam Subscriber Agreement (SSA). You have to activate the product online by registering for a Steam account and agreeing to the SSA.

Additional Requirements and Help

Installation requires an internet connection for authentication, as well as the Steam client (included with the game).

Installation Windows PC

Please make sure your computer is connected to the internet before you begin installing POLICE TACTICS IMPERIO. Place the POLICE TACTICS IMPERIO disk in the disk drive. During the installation process, your disk will be verified one time online, and an activation file that asks for a product code will be downloaded. You can find this code on the reverse side of this handbook.

Place the game disk in the disk drive. After a few seconds, a window will appear on the screen. Follow the instructions to install the game and choose the location where you would like the game to be installed. If the program does not start automatically, double click on the My Computer icon on your Windows Desktop. Then double click on the symbol for the disk drive to open the disk drive window, and then click on the installation file “setup.exe.”

Starting the Game

After installation is complete, start the program by selecting Start/All Programs/Steam/POLICE TACTICS IMPERIO in the Windows Start Menu, or by clicking on the corresponding desktop icon. If you receive a security alert when starting the autostart menu on Windows Vista/7/8/10, you should confirm the execution of the program “setup.exe.”

Uninstalling the Game

Choose “Start/Settings/Control Panel/Software” and mark the entry < POLICE TACTICS IMPERIO >. Then click on the “add/remove” button. The program and the files with the game data will then be removed.

Installation Mac

In order to play POLICE TACTICS IMPERIO on your Mac system, you will require a Steam account. If you do not have a Steam account, you can set one up for free. The STEAM® client is included with the game. Please follow the steps to install Steam and set up a Steam account.

In order to activate your game via Steam, do the following:

1. Open Steam and sign in with your account.

2. Click on the “Games” tab and then on the subheading “Activate a product on Steam…”

3. Follow the product activation steps before entering your product key. POLICE TACTICS IMPERIO will then automatically be downloaded and installed.

. In order to add the game to your STEAM® library, open the program and log in with your account. Setting up an account is free. After you have logged in, the STEAM® home page will open. Now click on the “Games” tab and then on the “Activate a product on STEAM®...” option.

The product activation window will then open. Click on “Next” to continue the process.

In the next window, you will have to agree to the STEAM® Subscriber Agreement to continue. You will then be able to enter the 12-character STEAM® product code.

After a successful product activation, you will be able to print a receipt. The gamewill now be in your STEAM® library and can be installed and launched.

Introduction

The city of Newport Falls belongs to the criminal organization IMPERIO. The members of this group spread fear and terror and held the once picturesque Newport Falls in a stranglehold of organized crime. For a long time, the police had nothing to oppose this power and IMPERIO was free to do as it pleased. Until one day a wily police officer, John Croft, appeared on the scene. Together with his taskforce, he was able to put a stop to this syndicate's deeds bit by bit. But just before he could arrest the leader, he and his organiz-ation disappeared without trace. John Croft, the hero and father of a young boy was found dead a short time later. There were two bullets in his chest. But the case was never solved. IMPERIO disappeared and the city blossomed and developed magnificently – but only for a short time because IMPERIO is back and more dangerous than ever before.

The Main Menu

You can access the main menu via the ESC button at any time. Here you can start a new game, play the tutorial or enter the options menu.

Continue: Continue your last saved game.

New Game: Here you can start a new game

Load: Access all your saved games.

Options: Here you can adjust the settings of the graphics, the audio and the controls.

Credits: Take a closer look at the people who developed the game. Exit Game: Here you can quit the game.

Your career is about to start At the very beginning of your career, we recommend playing the tutorial. There you will learn everything you need to know about police work, the basics of unit management, vehicle fleet management and how you respond to the different crimes. The tutorial is available during the game.

Start a new game

When you are prepared and ready, you can start your own career by clicking “New Game” in the main menu. You will need to choose a difficulty level and a force. This will have an Impact on the unit’s appearance in the game. You can choose between US- and German police units. When you are ready, hit the “Continue” button.

Your Police Department

Once you’re in the game you can access and manage your department. Here we would like to explain the different rooms and opportunities.

Parking lot

This is where all your vehicles are stored. Can be expanded during the game.

S.W.A.T. roomThe room where your S.W.A.T. team members are when not on duty.

Riot officer roomThe Riot Control team's room.

Investigator LabThis is where you can find your CSI employees

Empty RoomSeveral rooms are empty at the beginning of the game. You can unlock them during the game. If unlocked you can select a Custom Room from the HQ panel to fill it.

Tipps and Tricks

Welcome to Police Tactics! This tips and tricks guide will get you through the basics of the game and prepare you for your new assignment: Chief of Police. To move around the city quickly you can use a wide range of police vehicles. Usually your officers will arrive quicker at the scene when using a patrol car.

From time to time crimes are committed - we can't avoid that. These crimes reduce the sense of safety in the neighborhood. High safety grants us more income and the favor of the city council. You can view the safety levels by opening the strategic view. As you can see the buildings in your district are now colored as an indication to their safety levels. Green means high, while Red means low safety.

To regain the trust of our citizens we have to show our presence to them. We can achieve this by setting up patrol routes around the city. Patrolling units increase safety in their near vicinity. You can setup patrols via the strategic view.

You can create Patrol routes for officers on foot, with patrol helicopters or patrol cars. All of these patrols have advantages and disadvantages. Choose wisely.

If you have any number of officers selected and you move your mouse over the icon it will show the strength of your selection and the force ratio against the criminals at the bottom of the icon. This way you know when you have enough policemen to take the perps down.

Be warned that in some cases the criminals won't give up, or will try to escape!

If the perpetrators have already left the scene there is still a chance to catch them though. You'll have to use Investigators and Detectives to gather evidence and find the perps.

When a room in your Headquarters has reached its maximum capacity you can increase capacity via an upgrade. Upgrading your department allows you to hire more specialized officers and purchase more vehicles. Upgrades usually unlock while playing the story missions.

You’ll get rated by the City Council depending on your performance. The better you do the more money you'll receive from the city.

You are rewarded with Reputation points when you successfully solve a case. Points are also deducted if you fail to solve a crime. These points are turned into additional funding at the end of the day. Your current amount is visible at the top-center of the screen.

Story missions are special crimes or chains of crimes which advance the story when solved. Story missions also unlock vehicles and upgrades.

You can neutralize speeding areas, which will occur from time to time by fining fast vehicles. You can do this by obtaining a Speeding Camera Van.
