Why use Podcasts to enhance Literacy? • For some children they
don't enjoy reading books. • Audio Podcasts grab the
attention of students with technology that they are familiar.
• The average student spends only 2 hours reading book compared to spending 5 1/2 hours on a computer

• Making a podcast is easy.• Pick a theme. • Choose the content to be
used in the podcast.• All that you need is a
computer and a microphone.

How does Audio Podcasts make a difference in Literacy• Audio Podcast puts a
human voice to stories.• It captures the audience it
is intended to capture.• This tool will allow
teachers to reach those students that are hard to reach.
Accommodating students with special needs.• Some students have a
difficulty with reading.• This technology will allow
those students with reading problems to be able to enjoy stories.
