Planning of cover

Choosing the name of my music magazine , I didn’t quite know what to use at first whereas some people in my class knew straight away. So to help me out I went on a music thesaurus that had 100’s of different names but I then decided I wanted the media element of music within my magazine so therefore I changed it to something that wasn’t so heavily based on music alone. In the end I narrowed it down to gig and listen and then decided on Listen.

First stage

Was choosing the image to go on front cover and which would be my main picture and the right person to do it. In the end I chose my sister due to having a unique style about her and a the way her hair was, was perfect for my theme of modern rock. I then took a variety of pictures of her and decided on one which was my favourite.

Second stage

Was drawing my front cover out on paper as a sketch…

Third stage

Was the font, I went on the website www.dafont.com and played around with a few fonts when I decided the name ‘listen’. It took me a while to find the different fonts for each section but after a while I found the right one for each and found they worked really well. I didn’t want it to look to armature and tried to put a professional spin on it but I'm not sure if that came across.

Forth stage

Once I had decided which picture, font and style I wanted, I started to put it together and found it worked really well. I had to move bits around and edit certain bits more then others but when it come together I was really pleased with the finial result. I learnt a lot more by doing this front cover then the school magazine due to having more technical tasks to do with the music magazine and trying to make it look as professional as I could.
