We mix colours, shapes, forms and materials to

create carefully crafted and timeless designs that

can work in all kinds of settings. Our ambition is

to create beautiful high quality products making

a positive difference and bringing joy into your

All our products are exclusively handmade in

our designstudio in Copenhagen, by skilled

craftswomen from all over the world, using time-

honored traditional techniques handed down

from generation to generation. We celebrate the

uniqueness in our products and believe in the

’Buy less, buy better’ philosophy offering timeless

refined objects and a sense of authencity.

Our dedication to work with the best materials

is combined with a focus on a sustainable

production. We collaborate with Danish

manufacturer Kvadrat and use their surplus

textile production in all our products. This

ensures us a premium quality of materials, a

reduced impact on the environment and a unique

and limited selection of products.

To us good design is about humans. We train

and employ immigrant women, giving them

the opportunity to support themselves and

their families and the freedom to express their

individual skills. Some finds passion in colour

and shape and others draw deeply from personal

experience. Place de Bleu finds passion not

in profit but in making a difference. We take

responsible principles to heart.

The new autumn/winter 14 limited edition

collection reflects an overlapping conversation

between culture, colour and pattern. We

have been inspired by the assembling and re-

interpretation of forms, shapes, colours and

textures. When is the form the figure and not

the ground? Is green still green when it looks like

grey? Can a round cushion be square and what

makes up a pattern?

Geometrical motifs are a common theme in

all cultures. From ancient Persia to Chinese

tangrams, to mandalas or Scandinavian design we

all explore geometric designs and mathematical

patterns. From our cross-cultural basis Place de

Bleu wants to challenge conventions and reinvent

a contemporary graphic and geometrical style.

This new collection includes more than 50 new

cushions, seats and poufs and features more

colours, more basics and more vibrant timeless

geometric patterns than ever before. The series

are based on the mingling and matching of

textiles, colours and patterns.

We want complement and interpretation and we

want you to participate in mixing and matching

and creating the perfect selection of accessories

for your home.
