PILIntroductionPILPIL means Public Interest Litigation.The concept is with the principles enshrined in the Article 39A of the Constittution of India.PIL helps to protect and deliver social justice with the help of Law.PIL can be filed by anyone but it should be proved to the court that it is for the benefit of public and not for personal interest.BEEF BANThe Ban for beef was first passed by BJP in 1995.It was sent to the President for approval in January 1996.When BJP came to power last year, once again they pushed for it to be signed into Law.Pranab Mukerjee later enforced this Law.This law was first enforced only in Maharashtra. Later, Narendra Modi expressed hope on bringing in a National Ban on cow Slaughter.

In Maharashtra, the punishment for the sale of beef or possession of it could be prison for five years with an additional fine of Rs 10,000.The decision of the BJP government to ban on slaughter of cows may affect the economy in the state.India is the largest exporter of Beef in the World. Indian economy as a whole will also be affected due to this Ban.

Why Beef Ban In India ?The cow has been a symbol of wealth in India sinceancient times.Cattle is considered sacred inHinduism.Hindu is the majority religion in India. In order to preserve their religious sentiments, they support Beef Ban.
