MSSIG Social Gathering/Kathy Yochum Student Event: Students will meet in the Convocation Center at 7:30 pm (following the Saturday Exhibit Hall) for a brief meeting, social gathering and Trivia Night. The Saturday night MSSIG Agenda includes:

• MSSIG meeting and elections • Trivia challenges! Kathy Yochum was the Manager of the Physical Therapy Department at Christian Northeast-Northwest Hospital from 1983 through 1993. After

graduating from Washington University in 1959, she began her career as a Staff Physical Therapist at the St. Louis Veterans Administration Hospital from 1959 through 1967. In 1967, Kathy began working at Halls Ferry Manor in North County and continued to consult there until 1983. Kathy also worked as a full time Staff Physical Therapist first at Christian Hospital Northwest and then at Christian Hospital Northeast from the late 1970’s through 1983 when she became manager of the Department.

Kathy very strongly believed in education and life-long learning. Kathy wanted every student to have a wonderful learning experience and fought to have the position of Center Coordinator of Clinical Education initiated while she was Manager. Student learning was not the only area of education that Kathy supported. Kathy was a very strong advocate of her staff going to continuing education courses, coming back and teaching others, and immediately putting what they learned in those courses into action with patients. In many ways, Kathy Yochum was a role model of what good support for educational programs should look like. Saturday Luncheon & Awards - All attendees are invited and encouraged to attend Saturday’s luncheon. Business Meeting, Elections & Open Forum – We will be voting to fill several MPTA leadership positions during our luncheon on Saturday. At the open forum, our Chief Delegate will discuss the Rule Changes (RCs) coming before the APTA House of Delegates in June. Join us and have a voice! Research Posters –Research posters will be on display Saturday evening.

GENERAL INFORMATION Registration Fee: Advanced registration is requested and suggested. This will help eliminate unnecessary delays upon arrival at the meeting. Register early and save to receive the Early Bird discount rate! There will be on-site registration, however; registrants are not guaranteed a registration packet. Refunds: Full refund of fees minus a $20 processing fee will be made if written notice of cancellation of registration is received by April 8, 2016. Half of the registration fee minus the $20 processing fee will be refunded after this date. No refunds will be made unless written notice of cancellation is received prior to the opening date of the conference. Continuing Education Certificates: Due to strict CEU regulations you will need to sign the sign-in sheets in each course to acquire your hours. This will be strictly enforced. Educational Session Ratings: The educational sessions difficulty/knowledge levels are rated based on the following scale: v INTRODUCTORY. This level assumes little or no information within the areas covered. The focus is on general orientation and

increased awareness of the participant. v INTERMEDIATE. This level assumes a general familiarity with the literature and professional practice within the area covered.

The focus is on increased understanding and application by the participant. v ADVANCED. This level assumes thorough familiarity with current literature and professional practice. The focus is on recent

advances, future directions, and application of research. v VARIOUS. Indicates that a single level cannot be determined. It is intended primarily for activities that offer multiple sessions or

multiple components wherein the instructional level may vary from session to session or across activity components.

Accreditation: The number of credit hours is listed below each course description. Each participant is responsible for keeping a record of their attendance and the total number of Continuing Education Units received. This program is sponsored by the MPTA.
