Modul 8 : Creating MARALiner Poster

Duration : 80 minutes

Objective: Students will be able to:-

1. Get the practical skills in creating a Mara

Liner poster.

Create a MARALiner poster.

1. Find out a graphics file from Internet. Go to www.google.com and type the

keywords like ‘PUTRAJAYA’, ‘DESARU’, ‘BUS’ and so on.

2. Save the graphics file to a specific folder. Remember the folder location and

measure you can get back the

files later.

3. Open Adobe Photoshop CS2.

4. Click File – New. Create 600

px X 600 px canvas.

5. Set the foreground and background color. You can select bright red color for

foreground and dark red color for background.

6. Click the Gradient

tool.

7. Drag the cursor from

left edge top to right

edge bottom.

8. Looks, you got a beautiful background.

9. Add a new layer.

10. Click a Elliptical Marquee tool and make a oval marquee shape onto the canvas.

11. Set your foreground/background color to default (White and black)

12. Drag your cursor across the oval marquee shape (ball).

13. Click SELECT – DESELECT.

14. You have to twirl the ‘ball’.

Click FILTER – DISTORT –

TWIRL.

15. Twirl the ball until

you get a beautiful

shape.

16. Click EDIT –

TRANSFORM –

DISTORT. Modify

and reshape the

twirling ball.

17. Click the ‘twirling ball’ layer and change

the Normal mode to soft light mode.

18. After that, click FILE – OPEN. Open the

‘BUS’ file.

19. Select the bus

body using

‘LASSO’ tool

20. Click MOVE

tool, and drag

the bus into

your project.

21. Resize the bus

with ‘FREE

TRANSFORM’

command.

22. Change the

opacity at ‘bus’

layer from

100% to 45%.

23. Open the ‘PUTRAJAYA’ file.

24. SELECT – SELECT ALL, and drag the ‘putrajaya’ into your project.

25. Resize the ‘putrajaya’ picture.

26. Click the ‘putrajaya’ layer and click a layer style, then click ‘STROKE’ .

27. You can take a white color.

28. Repeat step 23 – 27 for ‘Chinni’ , ‘Desaru’, ‘KLCC’ and ‘Langkawi’ files.

29. The final step, type ‘MARA liner’ using type tool.

30. Yahoo… you have

done your work.
