The Phoenicia Hotel dates back to 1935 and has an architectural beauty in keeping with the city’s other historic

buildings. A Valletta icon, the Phoenicia was Malta’s first five-star hotel and has a long tradition of opening its doors to famed and powerful clientele, including Queen Elizabeth II.

The hotel is in a peaceful setting just outside the ancient capital city walls and is ideal as a base from which

to explore the delights of the island. From its elevated position the Phoenicia commands glorious views over the

Grand Harbour and the city’s skyline and it is set within seven and a half acres of beautiful gardens.

The hotel features 136 rooms which are classic in style with tiled floors and the finest modern amenities. It also boasts

three restaurants, serving French, Maltese and Mediterranean cuisine, a fitness centre and an outdoor pool. When not

exploring, the Palm Court lounge bar is the ideal place for morning coffee, afternoon tea or an early evening cocktail.

DINING AND DRINKINGBREAKFASTThe Phoenix Restaurant offers an extensive international buffet breakfast between 07:00 am and 10:30 am. If you prefer breakfast served in your room please complete the breakfast doorknob menu the night before or simply call the Guest Service Centre.

RESTAURANTSThe hotel offers two restaurants - the Phoenix Restaurant and Cafe Phoenicia. Inspired by the grand cafes of Europe, The Phoenix Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It offers a la carte menus and a buffet breakfast as well as speciality events. There is an eclectic variety of dishes including both traditional Maltese and classics with a twist. The executive chef takes full advantage of the daily catch and features a fish of the day. Dine on The Terrace, the place to be seen in the heart of Valletta:

Breakfast: 07:00 am - 10:30 am

Lunch: 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Dinner: 7:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Cafe Phoenicia is Valletta’s most lively cafe - casual and cosmopolitan, with a popular location overlooking the entrance to Valletta and the city’s business and historic district. The cafe opens before lunch serving salads, burgers, hand stretched pizzas and fresh pasta made daily, a selection of wines by the glass, local and international beers, teas and coffees. Cafe Phoenicia is open Monday to Sunday from 10:00 am to 10.00 pm.

LOUNGE BARThe Palm Court Lounge opens daily from 08:30 am to 10:30 pm serving morning coffee, afternoon tea, light snacks and beverages.

DRESS CODE The dress code is smart casual in all of the dining and drinking venues.

ELECTRICITYThe electricity supply from the sockets is 220 - 240 volts. The razor socket electricity supply is 115 - 240 volts.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURESIn the unlikely event that this should occur during your stay, we ask that you remain calm and follow the instructions of the staff. We request that, as soon as you enter your room, you carefully read the safety instructions fixed on the inside of your hotel room door.

END OF STAY QUESTIONNAIREYour comments are important to us therefore we ask that you fill in the questionnaire sent with your final documents. We are always looking for ways to improve your holiday and in order to do this we need some feedback from our guests.

GUEST RELATIONSA member of the management team is always available in the Lobby. Should you have any issues during your stay or if the service you have requested does not meet your expectations, please contact Guest Relations or the Manager on Duty, who will personally help to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

HOUSEKEEPER / ROOM ATTENDANTSThe Housekeeper and team of Room Attendants are there to ensure that your room is as comfortable as possible. Should you find that a lamp is not working correctly, you need extra writing paper, an extra blanket or pillow, a shirt ironed urgently, a lost button replaced or that you have forgotten your razor, please contact the Guest Service Centre who will be pleased to assist you.

INTERNETComplimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. For information about accessing the internet kindly ask at Reception or contact the Guest Service Centre.

LAUNDRY & DRY CLEANINGThe hotel offers laundry and dry cleaning services between Monday and Saturday. Laundry service is not available on Sundays and public holidays. Laundry and dry cleaning bags and a price list are located in the drawer of your dressing table. Please complete the forms, place them in the bags and call the Guest Service Centre for collection. Items handed in before 9:00 am will be returned by 4:30 pm on the same day. Express service is also available for items handed in before 9:00 am for an additional charge. Express Service Laundry is delivered by 2:30pm on the same day.

LIFT There are two lifts in the hotel which service all areas.

LOST PROPERTYBefore you check out, please check your hotel room to ensure you do not leave anything behind. If you discover you have left any items behind, please contact Noble Caledonia directly. If we are able to recover your item(s) we will contact you to arrange delivery or collection, and any costs incurred will be at your own expense.

MEDICAL FACILITIESA hospital is located 15 minutes from the hotel and a doctor can be called to the hotel at any time.

MINI BARFor your convenience a Mini Bar facility has been set up in your room with soft drinks free of charge (replenished daily).

PASSPORTSAll Passports are collected by reception upon check-in. Passports are necessary to facilitate immigration formalities and are returned straight away.

ROOM ACCOUNTAll guests will have their own “room account” once credit card details have been given to reception on arrival which allows you to sign for any expenses and then settle your bill at the Reception Desk at the end of your stay. ROOMS AND SUITESAll 136 of the luxury bedrooms and suites have been lovingly restored. In collaboration with Peter Young Design, Campbell Gray Hotels have worked to retain the original features of the rooms, including the authentic tiled floors. The rooms benefit from astonishing views and also included is a complimentary mini bar for non-alcoholic drinks and free internet. In addition each room features air-conditioning, bathrobes, in-room safe, cable TV and tea and coffee making facilities.

Superior Rooms: These offer an average of 23 square meters of living space. The Superior Rooms offer fresh Mediterranean decor and an authentic Maltese tiled flooring.

Executive Rooms: These offer an average of 23 square metres of living space. All rooms benefit from a small balcony offering stunning views of Valletta, the bastions or Floriana.

Deluxe Harbour View Rooms: These offer an average of 25 square meters of living space. The Deluxe Rooms offer magnificent views overlooking the Grand Harbour and the three cities, the gardens and Marsamxett Harbour. Many of the Deluxe Harbour View Rooms also have a private balcony.

ROOM SERVICEAvailable 24 hours a day, the room service menu can be found in your room. Please contact the Guest Service Centre to place your orders. A €5.00 service charge applies.

SAFE DEPOSIT BOXThe in-room safe is provided for the added convenience and privacy of guests. For better security, we recommend that money, jewellery, documents and other valuable items be placed for safekeeping in the hotel’s safety deposit boxes. Please contact Reception for more information.

SMOKING POLICYAll hotel rooms are non-smoking. The Phoenix Restaurant, Cafe Phoenicia, Club Bar, Palm Court Lounge and banquet rooms are all smoke-free areas. Please ask the hotel staff for directions to designated smoking areas within the premises.

SWIMMING POOLThe pool attendants are on duty from 9.00 am – 6.00 pm daily. Outside of these hours the pool deck is unattended and for safety and security reasons will be closed at sunset. Pool towels are supplied free of charge and are available from the pool bar. We would like to ask you to please refrain from using the white towels from your room for the pool deck. Board games and playing cards may be obtained from Concierge and also from the Pool Bar during summer. The pool is heated during the winter months.
