In November, we volunteered to help the PAAC (Preservation of African-American Cemeteries) program. This project took place at Campground Cemetery just outside of Monticello, Arkansas.

In April, we continued our support of the PAAC program by helping out at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello, Arkansas.

Meghan Pope and Sam Maddox were recognized as the History department’s Outstanding Graduates, while Trae Wisecarver was awarded the G. William and Verna Hobson Cahoon Scholarship.

In October, Paula Trotter attended a rededication ceremony to celebrate the preservation and restoration of the Rosenwood School in Selma, Arkansas, built in 1924 for Selma’s African American community.

In May, Phi Alpha Theta members gave a presentation to the Rotary Club of Monticello about our experiences and what Phi Alpha Theta means to us.

Phi Alpha Theta members reflect on the great year we’ve had.
