Carolinas Breast Friends (CBF) is nonprofit organization that provides a caring and positive environment for women diagnosed with breast cancer. Women are welcome to visit the CBF Pink House during all stages of their journey - from diagnosis to surgery to chemotherapy and radiation treatments to remission - CBF is here every step of the way and is a place where survivors can laugh, share and learn. The Pink House offers a variety of support services including educational programs, health and wellness seminars and peer-to-peer mentoring. How do you measure success? - Outreach services (Jars, Bags, Pillows) delivered, Survivors assisted by programs (i.e., Mentoring, Social meetings, Counseling meetings, Arts and Crafts, Nutrition programs, Fitness classes) How does your organization move vulnerable populations from crisis to stability? - Not a specific goal, but accomplished when working with newly diagnosed survivors Who are your community partners? Are they Profit or Non-Profit? Most of our community partners are non-profits organizations, e.g., Buddy Kemp House, Susan G Komen Charlotte Affiliate, American Cancer Society, Presbyterian Hospital, Carolinas Medical Center. Some of our community partners are for profit businesses that donate, e.g., JE Dunn Construction, 107.9 The Link. Is this a 501 c3 Charity? yes What are existing funding sources? Grants & Donations (72%), and Fundraising events (28%) What percent of contributions/budget go to Administration vs. Charity recipients? Our administrative overhead is 14% of our total expenses. What is the overall budget? Approximately $250,000 annually Request copy of most recent Annual Report. We currently do not have an annual report but will complete one for 2012 available in early 2013.

• Who are recipients of benefits from this organization? What geographicalarea do the participants live in? Women diagnosed with breast cancer are theprimary recipients from the metro Charlotte area, although our website andwebsite resources are available to women anywhere in the world.

• What donations would they request?

o Productso Volunteer jobs available - yes, small or large, ongoing or one-time.

We would work with you for the best fit for PGWC.o Money - yes, financial donations allow us to pay the bills on our

facility the Pink House.

• Volunteer schedule - Monday thru Friday only or include week-ends - 8A-5Pand/or evenings? Are there any requirements for volunteer, i.e., backgroundcheck, drug test? If so, who pays for these? Schedule is variable; again wewould work with PCWC to find the best fit.

• Do they need interpreters? If so, what languages? Not at this time, althoughbi-lingual Spanish speakers would likely be our first need.

• Are there other ways to "plug in", i.e., Luncheons or Events? Yes, there areseveral opportunities to "plug in" to CBF including fundraising events, socialevents, and for survivors our regular programming. Also Board of Directorsopportunities
