Tijuana River Valley Trash And Sediment Working Group  

• Collaborative partnership of local, state, and federal agencies and others addressing the broad range of trash, sediment, and debris issues over the entire Tijuana River Valley watershed.

• Subcommittees formed Fall 2008: Border, Cleanup, Restoration, and Binational.

• Border Subcommittee: to develop and implement solutions on CA side that will capture and divert trash, tires, and sediment before it reaches the Tijuana River Valley.

Tijuana River Valley Trash And Sediment Working Group (cont.)  

• Cleanup Subcommittee: characterize and cleanup trash, tires, and manage sediment in the Tijuana River Valley.

• Restoration Subcommittee: develop and implement restoration, mitigation, and flood control features of the Tijuana River Valley ecosystem.

• Binational Subcommittee: identify sources of trash, tires, and sediment in the Tijuana River Valley watershed that impact the floodplain and recommend, establish, and implement a plan to abate and manage these sources in cooperation with Mexican agencies.
