Arts Award: Explore is an accredited qualification open to a variety of
ages. Pupils create a scrap book based around experiences in the
arts– such as workshops, lessons, trips and performances. We
have just started a trial group this term but we will hopefully be
running it again in September for any pupil who would like to take
part. Below is an example of an Arts Award Activity.

Ilminster Warehouse Theatre
Thursday 17th March 2016
Pupils had the opportunity of performing at the wonderful Ilminster Warehouse Theatre on Thursday 17th
March . The pupils spent the day at the theatre to rehearse in the new space and stage crew had a chance to
practice with the equipment. The staff at the theatre were very helpful and supportive giving the pupils ample
time and experienced advice to experiment with the lights and sound. The acting on stage was to a very high
standard and all who were involved
should be immensely proud of themselves.
We all hope that the audience enjoyed the
performance and would like to thank the staff and
parents who supported the play . Thank you also
to the very generous companies around Ilminster
who donated raffle prizes allow-
ing us to raise money for the
Performing Arts
department and enabling us to
perform in such a wonderful
theatre.
“The
performance
was very good.
Me, my mum
and dad really
enjoyed it..”
Jayden Westcott
“The mask scene
looked very freaky and
I liked all the sound
effects”
