Purpose of Document

The API WorkSafe Operator Training and Examination Program User’s Guide will provide users with step‐by‐step

instructions on how to: register for an account, order a single or multiple programs, use a Promotional Code, use a

Company Token, pay by Credit Card, access a program, complete a program and how to print out their certificate.

Additionally, instructions are included on how to request Company Administrator status.

Register for an Account

Go to apioperatortraining.com and

click on ‘Register’ to create an

account on our website.

Choose your company name from

the drop down list.

Some companies have a separate

listing for each location, so be sure to

choose the company name for your

specific location. If you are not sure

which company name to choose,

simply call the API WorkSafe Help

Desk at (202) 682‐8469 or email

[email protected] for

assistance.

If your company is not listed, you

may add it by clicking on ‘Click here

to add a company to the list’.

Enter the requested information

into each field. Fields marked

with a * are required. Fields such

as ‘Last 4 Digits of Social Security

No.’ are optional unless required

by your particular state.

If possible, please enter an email

address which you have access to and

check regularly as much of our

communication, such as confirmation

and reminder messages, will be

emailed to that address.

on ‘Accept’ at the bottom of the

page.

Order a Single Program

An email like this will be sent to

the email address you listed

when you created your account,

confirming that your account

was created and listing your

Username and Password.

After you have accepted the Terms and

Conditions above (Figure C, Page 6), you will be

brought to this page. You will start at this page

every time you log into your account.

Click on the ‘Enter’ button under ‘Operator

Training and Examination Program’ to begin

ordering your program.

Select the State and

Operator Type from the

drop down menus.

As an example, Nevada

has been selected for the

State and A+B has been

selected for the Operator

Type. But select the State

and Operator Type for the

program you need.

Once you have made your

selections, click on the

‘Continue’ button.

The Training and/or Exam options

available are determined by each

state.

If the boxes are greyed out, you

cannot change the options. If one

or both of the options are blank,

you may select the option(s) you

wish to order.

Once you have made your

selection(s), click on the ‘Add

to Basket’ button.

Click on ‘OK’ to confirm

your selection(s).

The contents of your Shopping Basket

are displayed. If you wish to pay now,

click on ‘Proceed to Checkout’.

If you would like to order another

program, click on ‘Continue


Add additional Program(s)

(If you don’t wish to order an additional program, skip to Page 11)

Clicking on the ‘Continue

Shopping’ button (Figure I,

Page 9) will bring you back to

this page.

Repeat the same steps as

before to add additional

program(s) to your Shopping

Basket.

You will now see all the

programs you ordered

listed in your Shopping

Basket.

Click ‘Proceed to

Checkout’ to view the

payment options.


Use a Promotional Code

(If you don’t have a Promotional Code, skip to Page 12)

Enter your Promotional Code

and click the ‘Apply’ button.

If your Promotional Code was

successfully applied, you will

see the message ‘Promotional

code applied’ and the

‘Purchase cost’ will reflect the

discount.

If you think your company has

a Promo Code but you do not

know the “code”, contact the

API WorkSafe Help Desk at

(202) 682‐8469 or


assistance.


Use a Company Token

(If you don’t have a Company Token, skip to Page 13)

Enter your Company Token

and click the ‘Make Payment’

button.

If you think your company has

a Token but you do not know

the Token “code”, contact the

API WorkSafe Help Desk at

(202) 682‐8469 or


assistance.


Pay by Credit Card

Enter your credit card

information, ensuring that the

card and billing information is

correct.

We accept Visa, MasterCard

and American Express. We are

not able to accept the

Discover Card at this time.

When finished, click on the

‘Make Payment’ button.

If your transaction is

successful, you will see this

message.

Print a copy for your records,

if desired.

To begin your program, click

on the ‘Continue’ button.

An email like this will be sent to

the email address you listed

when you created your account,

confirming your order.

Please note that access to

Operator Training and

Examination programs expires

upon completion of the

program (pass or fail) or 30

days after purchase, whichever

comes first.

Clicking on the

‘Continue’ button

above (Figure P, Page

14) will bring you to

this page. You will start

at this page every time

you log into your

account.

Under Active Courses

(Purchased) you will

see all active programs

purchased. Click on the

name of a program to

begin your training.

You can order additional

programs, or reorder a

previously ordered

program, at any time by

starting with Figure E, Page

7 above.

15) will bring you to your

Program Modules page.

All videos, quizzes and the

exam for your program are

accessed through this page.

To download the Course

Handbook, click on ‘Click here to

Download the course handbook’

and save the file to your

computer.

Please note that the

training videos open in a

new window. If you click

on ‘Begin Training’ and

nothing happens, your

pop up blocker is

preventing our videos

from displaying. Simply

adjust your pop up

blocker settings to

“always allow” pop ups

from our website.

Upon successful completion of

your program, you will see a

message similar to this.

Your certificate will be displayed

after you agree to the Terms and

Conditions by clicking on the

If for any reason you

are unable to print

your certificate at

this time, you can

access it 24/7

directly through

your account. Simply

log into your

account and at the

top of the page is a

box that says ‘Your

Certificates’. Click on

the name of your

certificate in red and

it will open in a new

widow. You can

print directly from

that window or copy

and paste it into a

document like an

email.

Congratulations, you’ve earned your

certificate!

You can print out your certificate by

clicking on the ‘Print Safety Key/Certificate’

link in red.


Request Company Administrator Access

Company Administrators have access to additional tools, which allow them to manage the accounts of users at their

company. The tools include the ability to register new users, pre‐pay for orders, edit company information and view user

program results and certificates. If you would like to request Company Administrator access, simply do one of the

following:

1. Contact the API WorkSafe Help Desk, 24/7 (excluding major holidays), at (202) 682‐8469 or

[email protected].

2. Or follow the screenshots below:
