DAY CAMP HIGHLIGHTS

The camps will be held in Transylvania's $15 million, 97,000-square-foot Clive M. Beck Center.The competition arena can accommodate two bas-ketball courts with a partition that lowers from theceiling. Locker rooms and a training room are alsoon this level. The upper level features a secondtwo-court gym, flanked by a 4,000-square-foot fit-ness center and a dance/aerobics room. An elevat-ed walking/jogging track encircles the upper gym.

DAY CAMP (boys and girls ages 7–14)

This camp for boys and girls givessome of our younger campers theirfirst experience with basketball.Special attention is given to ensurethat camp is an opportunity to learnnew things about the sport as wellas making sure that campers havea great time. Coach Lane and hisstaff work extremely hard to makethis week the camper’s most enjoy-able time of the summer. Campers

play with others their own age and size. Some ofour older campers use this camp as a chance toreally focus on the fundamentals of basketball toget a solid base for future playing either recreation-ally or with their school team. We take the safety ofyour child very seriously, so all campers are closelysupervised and are not allowed out of the gym areaunless accompanied by a counselor. Each camperis checked into and out of camp on a daily basis.

OVERNIGHT/DAY CAMP (boys ages 9–16)

Brian Lane Transylvania Basketball Campsplace a major emphasis on individualized instruc-tion in all phases of the game. Each camper willreceive the personal attention to build a strongfoundation in the fundamentals of basketball.Campers are carefully matched by age, size, andexperience to enhance their skill development andenjoyment. Campers can expect to learn fromCoach Lane and his outstanding staff the key fun-damentals of being a better basketball player.Those areas include defense, shooting, passing,ball handling, teamwork, and leadership. CoachLane’s daily involvement with the campers makesthis camp a very popular choice. Coach Lane or amember of his Transylvania staff stay in the dormto assist residence hall directors.
