WS What Makes Reading Easier
Description: This workshop is designed to guide teachers in learning new ways to make reading in the classroom more inviting and engaging for all students. Audience: Time: ELAR Elementary (3‐5) ELAR Middle School ELAR High School

WS Poetry Students Can Swallow
Description: Students normally shy away from poetry and never learn to appreciate or even tolerate poetry. There is a way to change that! PD English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS)
Description: Teachers will participate in a hands‐on training using the ELPS Academy Linguistic Instructional Alignment Guide to become familiar with performance‐based activities that support listening, speaking, reading, and writing. College and Career Readiness Standards will also be discussed. Proficiency level descriptors and suggested teacher behaviors for each level will be discussed and participants will practice deciding on strategies to implement for a mock student. WS STAAR Relevant Review
Description: Information from Lead4ward is used to provide participants with a number of different engaging, student‐centered activities for STAAR/EOC review. Audience: Time: ELAR Elementary (3‐5) ELAR Middle School ELAR High School

WS SAQ Training
Description: Workshop will assist teachers with instructing students to write a short answer question for STAAR. Teachers will receive past SAQs and analyze them using the STAAR/EOC rubric. Audience: Time: ELAR Middle School ELAR High School

WS STAAR Essay Calibration

Description: Teachers will read Great Habits, Great Readers by Paul Bambrick‐Santoyo and learn how to set up small reading groups in elementary classrooms. PD Implementing Professional Learning Communities
Description: This session will lay the groundwork for the implementation of results focused Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). Participants will work within professional groups to develop norms and protocols for effective learning communities centered on the evaluation of student work and teacher practice. Materials provided to teachers and administrators outline steps for a year‐long PLC implementation and evaluation of process. Audience: Time: All Subjects All Grade Levels

PD Bringing AVID to Life with 21st Century Tools
Description: This presentation encourages AVID Elective teachers, Site Team members, and AVID Coordinators to utilize students’ social media skills as a way to build community beyond the school site while integrating WICOR strategies and college readiness skills. 21st century tools such as Edmodo, Google Education, and Twitter provide extensions of the traditional classroom allowing students and teachers access to community resources and a global audience.
