Payne County Youth Services
Gives Thanks to the
Community
Payne County Youth Services just completed its fifth annual
Adopt-a-Family Holiday program. PCYS would like to thank all
the donors who responded to our request for assistance with the
Adopt-a-Family Program. “We had some wonderful donors par-
ticipate, with several of our donors having participated each year,“
stated Angie Freeny, PCYS Program Coordinator. Program do-
nors included: individuals; community organizations; OSU organi-
zations and local businesses.
PCYS identified and received permission from numerous families
to connect them with people in the community that had respond-
ed to PCYS requests for assistance. PCYS staff obtained a list of
needed items and wish list items from the families and then gave
this information to the donor. The donor then purchased the gifts
and brought them back to the PCYS office to be given to the re-
cipients. “The families receiving assistance expressed so much
appreciation for the much needed items, “stated Freeny.
We would also like to thank the First Presbyterian Church Giving
Tree program, who has supported PCYS and youth and families
for several years during the holiday season. The program provides
much needed items as well as wish list items for the youth.
PCYS was also fortunate to be a recipient of holiday assistance
through the OSU Nontraditional Student Organization. This holi-
day program provided numerous gift cards and needed items to
help fulfill a variety of family and individual youth needs including
food, clothing and Christmas gifts. PCYS would like to give
thanks to this organization for their support and generosity.
Wonderful holiday generosity continued through holiday gifts and
needed items from the St. Francis Xavier Church. Thank you to
this program for helping bring assistance and joy to the holiday
season for our youth and families.
PCYS is very fortunate to have so much community support
through the holiday season and throughout the year from many
individuals, community organizations, OSU groups and local busi-
nesses. “Thanks so much to all of you. We look forward to work-
ing together the next year to support the youth and families of our
communities,” stated Freeny.

Orange Leaf Hosts Pajama Drive
Payne County Youth Ser-
vices, Inc. would like to
thank the Stillwater Orange
Leaf for their support of our
youth over the holidays.
Orange Leaf held a pajama
drive, selecting PCYS as the
recipient of the donations.
“PCYS received many sets
of pajamas for our youth at
our emergency youth shel-
ter”, stated Angie Freeney,
Program Coordinator who
assisted with the project
“We want to give a big
thank-you to Orange Leaf
and the community donors for providing these much needed items.”

Payne County Youth Services honored donors and volunteers
recently at an event held at Countryside Church, with dinner pro-
vided by Texas Roadhouse. An annual celebration of the many
ways in which donors and volunteers support the agency and the
youth and families it serves, guests enjoyed a great meal and re-
ceived updates on the agency programming. They were also able
to take home a token
as a reminder that we
“can all make a differ-
ence” when everyone
works collaboratively
toward the agency
mission.
“We are very grateful
to each donor and
volunteer for the
many ways they sup-
port PCYS,” said Janet Fultz, executive director. “Our message
tonight included not only the outputs of our programming, such
as over 400 youth served in counseling, 3,392 shelter care days
provided to children and youth, and the over 16,000 hours of
community development and education provided during Fiscal
Year 2014, but also insight into outcomes – the youth who lived a
full life having
received the
crisis interven-
tion that kept
them from tak-
ing their own
life one dark
night, or the
children and
youth rescued
from unsafe
homes by being
placed in our
shelter.”
“We offer our most sincere thank you to all donors and volun-
teers,” continued Fultz, “from small to large financial donations
to donations of cat food, volunteer time and clothing. Each sup-
porter makes a positive difference for our children, families and
communities. We invite others who would like to support PCYS
to contact us. A great opportunity available now is securing your
sponsorships or reservations for our upcoming February 7 fund-
raiser, An Evening To Remember, which will feature a Murder Mys-
tery Dinner Theater, Silent and Live Auction. You CAN make a
difference!”
Appreciation Awards were given in several categories to recognize
some of the donors and volunteers for the previous fiscal year.
