We had a very successful pickleball tourney at Club Shuswap Golf and RV destination in North Canoe.
64 competitors from all over B.C. were involved in a round robin schedule over the 2 day event.
The weather co-operated beautifully and our courts were busy with competitive play, many observers and lots of amazingvolunteers.
Thanks to all of you who came and participated...............and to all who remained positive through the rain showers.
Thanks for all of the help when we dried and mopped off the courts---got us out there faster. Yeah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many of you volunteered your time to referee. Much appreciated.
The games, the food, the singsong on Saturday night. Such camaraderie. What a positive group !!
Through our raffles and 50/50, we have been able to donate to our 2nd Harvest food bank..............thanks for that !!! ~linda

White City gets 4 pickleball courts.White City, is located 10 kilometers East of Regina.
We have approximately 12 players out every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Up to 24 different players have
come out to enjoy PB. I started working with the town 3 years ago to ressurect the old double tennis court to 4 pickleball
courts with a chain link fence between the courts and the tennis nets and chain link fencing as our back stops. Additional
gates and repairs to the chain link fence have made this a great place to play. We play from middle of May to the middle
of October before some of us go back to our winter homes.

WORDS TO LIVE BY...(Source: "DON'T QUOTE ME" in TheToronto Star, Wed., July 29, 2015, p. S10)
Danny Kaye (1913-1987) said: "Life is agreat big canvas, and you should throw allthe paint on it you can."
Babe Ruth (1895- 1948) said: "I swing ashard as I can, and I try to swing right throughthe ball. I swing big with everything I've got.I hit big or I miss big. I like to live as big as Ican."
Question: Brian asks:
I am in need of a ruleclarification. Under servicerules, section 4, rules statethat the service must be made
cross court and is a fault if served into the wrong court?
Also the interference rule states that a receiver nor hispartner can interfere with the serve. But if the serve hitsthe receivers partner it is a point for the server?
Also it must be considered a fault as it was not served"cross court". Rule 7c states that a serve served into thewrongcourt is a fault and therefore is not a point. Sohowcanapoint be scoredby theserver servinga fault into thewrong court and hitting the receivers partner standing inhis correct court?
Whena serve is served into thewrong court, it means theball has NOT bounced on the wrong side of the court, therefore it has NOT landed on the wrong court. Whenthe server's ball hits the receivers partner, it is a point forthe server because theball hasnot bouncedyet. Theballthat has not bounced can still travel to the correct side ofthe court with a spin. Any time a ball hits a player beforeit bounces on the ground is a point for the opponents. Itis also a point for the server if a served ball hits thereceiver even if the receiver is standing outside thebaseline if the ball has not bounced yet.
