Committed Catholic Men
Last week we discussed taking the first step “Developing a rousing case for why Jesus Christ is your King.” Before we continue with the second step, did you act to implement step one? If not, it is not to late to do so. Include it in step two. A committed catholic man, is not in charge {the boss?} of his household or family. A committed catholic man has the responsibility to lead {Leader, Defender of} his family to bring them closer to Jesus Christ. He can do this by inviting his family to join him in daily prayer, almsgiving, and contrition, keeping the sab-bath, to lead his family by his example by living his spirituality. {Ephesians 5:22-23} Step Two: “Commit to be-come a Saint” {Read CCC 941} There are good people on earth, but there are only saints in heaven. Most men have not set the bar high enough to strive for saint-hood. Men must realize their own spiritual poverty and must be willing to take steps to correct it. In rec-ognizing his spiritual pov-erty, a man comes to both humbly recognize his need for God’s mercy. Aspiring to Sainthood changes eve-rything. Here are some sug-gestions from {epicpew.com} 1-Morning prayer, offer your day to God, 2-Grow in knowledge of yourself, recognize your weakness and learn how to strengthen it. 3- Create a “Plan of life” formulate and write out a plan for life. Time to pray, recognize personal limita-tions be honest with your-self. Go to confession regu-larly. 4-Improve your prayer life. CCC 2559 5-Increase your patience. CCC 825 6-Root out envy. CCC 2538-40 7- Form a healthy con-science. CCC 1776 All these are steps to con-sider when developing a “Plan for Life” Step #3 Next week.
Father Logsdon Logging In… The night is always darkest before the dawn. Together, we have been through a lot as a pastorate as we have taken on this challenge of sharing one priest (Supposed to be two). We could spent time focusing on the dark-ness, or we could strain our eyes looking for the dawn. Where do we begin? Refocusing on promises that have been made and renewing our hope in eter-nal promises really does help. Sometimes people are not able to fulfill prom-ises, but God is capable of all things and that needs to guide us. I cannot make others be true to their word, yet I can endeavor to fulfill promises that I make. Be an example of a reliable person and we can begin to make our lives more hopeful. We are starting to form a pastorate leadership team that will be tasked with assisting me and the Diocese to fire up our missionary spirit. I am sure that there are many ideas out there that will convert us from individual communities to communities that go out to convert the world. This group will meet with me every day and once a week to keep our fingers on the pulses of the individual parishes and guide the pastorate towards and univer-sal goal. This will take time and a lot of patience. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time talent and treasure as we have moved into these opportunity filled times.

MASS INTENTIONS When requesting Mass intentions, please include where (which parish/location) you would like your Mass inten-tion scheduled. With four parishes, it is very difficult for me to know everyone by name and corresponding par-
ish. Checks should be made payable to the specific church — not the pastorate. Please keep in mind that I do my best to honor specific date requests, but that is sometimes impossible. The schedule is booked out sev-eral months in advance in some cases. Thank you for
your understanding. — Joni Milner
