It's the second week of July 2017, the sun is rising, the crowds are arriving from all over the world, a breeze of excitement is in the air at Silverstone. Engines start roaring, the smell of oil tickles your nose...the curtain rises for the biggest student competition in the world.

OurPlan

We are designing, building and marketing a race car. The team is 100% student run, volunteering in our own time to develop business and engineering skills. Formula Student is the world’s most established educational motorsport competition. The worldwide competition is organised by thre Institute of Mechanical Engineers and since its inception in 1998, has become a key testing ground for the next generation of exceptional engineers.

Founded in October 2015, Salford University Race Team is an ambitious project created by a team of dedicated engineering and business students to compete in Formula Student, like other teams we are 100% student run volunteering our own time to develop our business and engineering talents.

BBy sponsoring our team, you will help us build a great car and invest our skills for the future, while also promoting your company. Our car and social media presence will be seen by thousands of students. We will present to industry experts at the Formula Student competition , held at Silverstone Grand Prix TrTrack in July 2017. Our car will be seen by students from across Europe and the country’s top automotive companies.

For the past 12 months, teams of engineering and business students have put their all into building a formula-style race car to represent their universities in Silverstone. Last year, Salford University came 18th out of 34 in their category, which is a decent result for a newbie in this highly competitive event. This year, hohowever, WE are going for the WIN.
