The CommSector Partner Network
• Is an extension to the broader Microsoft Partner Program (MSPP)
• The Communications Sector Partner Network has been created to:
– Develop a partner eco-system that focuses specifically on the Media and Entertainment, Network Service Providers, and Hosting partners
– One place where you can go to get information on our strategy, solutions, events, case studies and training, etc..
– It’s also a place where customers, partners and our sales team can go to identify who you are and what you do

• Get the latest news and announcements around our Customer Care Framework, Connected Services Framework, Database consolidation solutions, Hosting solutions, and more.
• Profile your company and your solutions so that our broader Communications Sector teams can know who you are and what you do.
• Submit requests for solution support, marketing support, or field sales engagement as appropriate.

• Navigate to: http://members.microsoft.com/serviceproviders/partners.
• If you do not have a Windows Live ID (Passport), use the link to “Sign up now.”
• Enter your Windows Live ID (Passport) and password and click on “Sign In.”

• Fill out the information in the wizard, and submit your signup information.
• Check your email for a message requesting you to verify ownership of your email address
• Click on the link included in this email to verify your email
• Click on “Continue” when brought to the Email Notification page

• Open your browser and navigate to: www.microsoft.com/csportal
• Use the link to “Click here to access your partner home”
• Sign in using your Passport ID
• Your account will be enabled within 24-48 hours after you initially sign up
• You will receive a Welcome email confirming your account has been activated and communicating any current announcements regarding the Portal

Partner RequestsProvides quick access to
placing requests for assistance or for further
information in regards to marketing,

solutions.
Partner Request Status and HistoryEnables partners to quickly create requests
for assistance or information, and allows them to view the status of these requests.
Partner Profile Provides access for partners to update
their partner profile.
Solution SupportProvides quick
access to answers for common
questions partners may have regarding
the Microsoft solution they are
using.
Quick LinksEnables partners to place requests for
assistance or access further information in
regards to marketing,
supporting, and managing their
Microsoft solutions.

• Click on the “Update Partner Profile” link on your right navigation bar
• Email updated profile information including the information requested on the Update Partner Profile page to [email protected]
• Your profile updates will be updated on your landing page for your review, and used to help Communications Sector sales staff know who you are and what you do

• Click on the “Partner Marketing” on your Top, Left, or Right Navigation Bar
• Review the Additional Resources listed
• Select the Request Detail and Solution Type most relevant to your request
• Click “Next”• Review the list of
information we are asking you to include with your request
• Give your request a title• Write out your request
in the Request Comments field- be sure to include the information we are asking for!
• Click on “Submit Request”
Placing Requests

When you place a request:
• The request will be submitted to Portal support staff• Information in your request will be reviewed so the
request can be fulfilled or forwarded on to specialized Microsoft personnel for resolution
• The status of your requests will be viewable on your Landing Page in the Request Status and History section
• Microsoft personnel will resolve your request in a timely manner
• Your request will be resolved. It may be considered resolved if:
– Your issue has been fully addressed by Microsoft
– Your issue can be resolved using information or resources that are publicly available (you will be given directions on how to find this information)
– Microsoft representatives have reviewed your opportunity and have decided to pursue this engagement
– Microsoft representatives have reviewed your opportunity and have decided not to pursue this engagement
Email Notification•You will receive a confirmation email listing the details of your request•You will receive email notification when your request is considered resolved.

asked questions will be posted and expanded as more requests are placed by partners
• General Content• Both Business and Technical
content is posted here in order to assist partners in marketing, selling, and deploying solutions that integrate with Microsoft Communications Sector and Hosting solutions
• Technical Downloads• Special downloads may be added
here by solutions teams• These may include Adapters,
Program Installers, and other technical bits
