What jobs can I get?
Student Helper: events, promotion, campaigns, photo shoots, alumni events, roadshows …
What jobs can I get?
• From 1 or 2 hours at a time to temporary full-time work during holidays
• From one off events to regular shifts• Work on campus, in Nottingham city
or from home
• You choose how much and when to work!
What is the pay?
• Pay depends on the job• Rates most often higher than outside
the University• National Minimum Wage £6.31 per
hour from 1 October 2013• Specialist roles up to £11-£14 per hour• Holiday pay earned with every hour
that you work (even if you work for just 1 hour)
How do I get a job?
• Online registration and application: www.unitemps.com
• Create your own profile• Make sure to include your contact
details• Upload your CV (and make sure it
represents you in the best possible way)
• Apply!
CV
• UK style and layout• Professional, well presented and up to
date• Tailored for part-time work (and not
graduate level jobs or research positions)• No more than 2 pages long• Do not include: photo, date of birth,
nationality, gender, marital status etc• Help and support available through the
Careers and Employability Service
Applications
• Be open minded but realistic • Online applications for each Unitemps
position you would like to be considered• Application notes should be concise (2-
3 paragraphs) but targeted and relevant
• Professional tone• Avoid: copy-pasting, spelling mistakes,
informal language• Feedback available from Unitemps
What happens next?
• We will call you if we can put your CV forward for a position, arrange an interview or book you in to work
• Payroll registration in person (ID, visa, bank details, NI number) must be completed before starting any work
• More information provided by the Unitemps team
How do I get paid?
• Online timesheets through your Unitemps profile
• Payments on a monthly basis• Holiday pay accrued and can be
claimed at the end of your assignment
One last thing…
• Register online to be notified of all new jobs as soon as they are advertised
• Apply early – jobs will be taken off the website once they are filled
• Jobs can be competitive (1-200 applications)
