Brief Overview
The Next Stop: achieving higher quality bus travel in South East Dorset Better Bus Area Fund
The key objective is to focus on the continuous improvement of bus travel. It consists of a number of targeted customer focused measures which are essential for improving bus travel and maintaining the momentum of the bus patronage growth experienced in the conurbation in recent years.
One of the measures is to implement highway improvements to allow greater accessibility for bus users and operators by improving the bus infrastructure in the local area. This will require minor construction works to take place at certain stops and processing of Traffic Regulation Orders for amendments of specific road marking changes. These proposed restrictions are part of this process
Three Towns Travel – Christchurch Road Scheme
The proposed banned turns are to enhance safety at the proposed pedestrian crossing in Christchurch Rd at the Exton Rd/Colemore Rd junction. This scheme is part of the Three Towns Travel – Christchurch Road Scheme project.
