JUNE 3, THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLODD OF CHRIST
From the Desk of Msgr. Steve... “Take it, this is my body” We celebrate today the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Body and Blood of Christ. The feast finds its origins back to the 13th century to Orvieto, Italy. A priest, no longer believing in the real presence, offered mass in which the host began to bleed right after the words of consecration. He stopped the mass because he was in such awe. The corporal stained in blood was taken to Pope Urban IV. After much investigation it was proven to be authentic. A great cathedral was built in Orvieto to house the stained corporal which can still be seen today. The great feast of Corpus Christi is celebrated with great festivity and procession on the feast. Google it if you have never done so, I encourage you to do it. The brilliance of color and reverence is fascinating. More and more in our world we need to celebrate the real presence of Christ…. Celebrating the real body, blood, soul and divinity so that we know of His presence in our lives and in the world. Many have been wondering how my healing is going … here is the answer……. It is going well… but what is going on is I am using a temporary leg. I need to use this leg for the next 6 to 8 months where it shapes my muscles and leg. It is awkward… steps are difficult. This is why it is hard for me to give out communion, it is easy to lose balance. But this is temporary until the muscles are reshaped, then I will get a permanent leg which will not be as heavy……..Hopefully that helps with one day a cane, one day not… Progress is hap-pening, just not as fast as I want it ha ha ha …….. God’s Blessings to you all,
Msgr. Steve & George (woof)

It's not about WHAT it is, it's about WHO it is! Every week, we gather here at Mass and take part in an astounding miracle: the miracle of God giving us his very self in the Eucharist. However, it can be dif-ficult to wrap our minds around this fact and fully appreciate this gift. This week’s FORMED Pick of the Week is a beautiful three-part video series that ex-plores the mystery of God’s love for us expressed in the Eucharist. It will leave you with a true under-standing and love for the Mass we have just cele-brated. This week, go to formed.org and watch Presence: Mystery of the Eucharist under the Study tab. And if you want to learn more, Lec-tio Eucharist is an amazing study by Dr. Brandt Pi-tre of the Eucharist and where it is found through-
out the Bible.

Knights of Columbus Scholarship Recipients Autumn Chase and Maggie Marrinan are the recipi-ents of $500 post-secondary education scholarships made available by the St. Patrick’s Parish Knights of Columbus Council. Maggie will attend the University of St. Thomas where she plans to study Social Sciences with an emphasis in Special Education. Autumn will attend Western Technical College to pursue a degree in Nursing. Please join us in congratulat-ing Autumn and Maggie and please keep them and all of this year's graduates in your prayers.
