• Lesson by lesson • Absence – Contact 6th Form Office directly

everyday of absence – Form Tutors informed.• Self certify using Pink Slip/Yellow Slip

How do we record attendance?


Scoring is based on:

A* = 8 A = 7 B = 6 C = 5

D = 4 E = 3 F = 2 G = 1

For each GCSE grade achieved

Average GCSE Score = Total points Total GCSE’s

Average points score only based on GCSEs

Minimum A level grade expectation


Minimum BTEC level grade expectation


• All examinations are now in May/June.• There are no January exams.• Students studying BTEC’s are continually assessed

throughout the year (some now have exams).• The key to A Level Success = Strong AS results.• Most A Level students start studying 4 subjects

and then drop down to 3 subjects.

Examinations and Assessment


• Dates for formal PROGRESS reports.

• Cycle 1 Report – November.

• Thursday 30th January – Year 12 Parents Evening

• Cycle 2 Report – Easter.

• New school text/email communication system.

• We now have the ability to send group texts and emails to parents to keep you up to date.

• This should prove a very useful tool in improving our communication with you.
