Sing this song to the tune of The Wheels On the

Bus. Ex: “The V on the bus says VVV (make the

sound of letter V three times).” Look for the song

at the end of the packet.

Math

Use words to describe

empty and full, with

• Run water into the kitchen sink or bathtub.

Provide containers so that your child can

practice making containers full or empty. Make

comments to your child such as: “This container is

full “ or “ This container is empty”

Pre-writing

Draw circles that go

counter clockwise

• Put a small amount of flour on a cookie sheet.

Have your child make circles in the flour using

their finger.

If you child’s name is “Bobbie” you would choose

Do a movement

activity 2 times

• Have your child do a variety of movements in

sequence 2 times each. Ex: “jump, jump, clap,

clap.”

• Possible movements: jumping, clapping, turning,

blinking, stretch to the sky, touch your nose,

touch the ground, wave your arms like a duck,

etc.

Gross motor

Review : run with

coordination

• Go outside and have your child practice

running. Make a race out of it. Time them and

see how long it takes them to run to “the fence”

or “run to the driveway” and run back.

• Go on a shape hunt in your house to find things

that are shaped like circle’s and/or squares. Ex:

“the mirror is a circle, the window in a square”

Be aware of the

changes that happen

in the spring time

• On a piece of paper write down the changes

that will happen during the spring and then have

your child draw a picture. ( Ex: if you write down

“the grass gets green” your child would draw a

picture of green grass.)

(Happy, sad, mad, scared). Talk with your child

about when/why you would have those feelings.

around the house.

• Write the numbers 1-10 on a sheet of paper for

your child. Point to each number and have your

respond, tell them what the number is.

letter. After they have found the letter they can

crumple up the paper and throw it into the

squares out of paper. Have your child use the

many small pieces as possible.

Ask them to help you count how many horses

they can see. Then help them recognize the

number six. Continue with the other objects on

the “seek and find” page.

such as “what did you like most about the story”,

“who was your favorite character”, “where did

the story take place,” etc.

on one square, the number 2 on another, etc.

Put the squares in a container. Have the child

pick one square and say the number. Choose

an action (clapping, jumping, hopping, etc.) to

do that many times.

• Use the farm animal pictures provided. Cut

them out individually. Show your child a pattern

such as pig, sheep, pig sheep, etc. Leave off the

two pictures of the pattern and have your child

tell you which one would come next. Continue

with other animals.

Social Studies

Identify farm animals

and sounds

• Sit with your child and discuss farm animals. Help

them write a list of all the animals they think they

would find on a farm. Then talk about the

sounds each animal make.
