The Thonton Academy Parent Association will meet on the last

MISSION

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

Many events held thoughout the year could always use parent support. The annual Thornton Fund Auction which is held in the spring, alumni events, homecoming, and holiday and end of the year events are aways interested in having parent involvement.

•Honors Banquet: Recognizes the top ten seniors, as well as sophomores, juniors, and seniors whose grades place them in the top 10 percent of their class.

•Undergraduate Awards Night: Recognizes freshmen, sophomores and juniors who have distinguished themselves academically.

•College Fair: Students and parents have the opportunity to explore the one hundred or so colleges and post-secondary institutions which are on hand to introduce students to educational opportunities available to them after graduation

•Scholarships: To promote better communication and understanding between TA faculty, administration and parents.

ACHIEVING MISSION

Communication Encouraging and fostering a circle of communication among trustees, administrators, faculty, students, and parents to enhance the well-being of the Thornton Academy community and facilitating the exchange of ideas among parents to further the purpose and objectives of the Thornton Academy Parent Association.

Service Establishing programs, activities, and events to promote social instruction at all levels; enhancing and supporting the educational process, encouraging and promoting parent participation in Thornton Academy activities, and sharing ideas among parents to further the purpose and objectives of the Thornton Academy Parent Association.

Events & Scholarships Hosting and organizing the following events to be held at appropriate times thought the year: Honors Banquet, Undergraduate Awards Night, and the College Fair, as well as awarding a scholarship to one female and one male senior at the end of each school year.

The Thornton Academy Parent Association is dedicated to

supporting Thornton Academy and to strenghtening the relationship among parents, students, faculty, trustees and the administration It will also assist Thornton Academy is promoting an environment that fosters our students ethical social,

and intellectual development.
