New Features – Responsive Web

Show duration on audio/video files

As of Pangea 7.05 the total length of

audio/ video gets shown in the right

bottom corner in the player. This should

help visitors to decide whether they

want to watch it (based on mobile data)

or not. Please note the duration gets

displayed only for audio/ video on

demand.

Size of audio/ video on media page

For the same reason as above -- specially for

our audience on mobile devices -- we’re

displaying now also the physical size of the

file next to the “Direct link”. This applies for

any downloadable multimedia items on a

media page.

Photo-gallery body content - Show More

In case Content in a Photo-gallery item is entered, there will be shown only the first sentence on the Responsive Photo-gallery page together with “Show more ˅ “ link showing the full text. Note that the Photo-galleries can now be promoted with rich formatting.

“Back to the top” floating navigation

When scrolling a page, we understand that it might be

sometimes hard to get to top fast via mobile device. This issue

has been addressed by implementing by a floating navigation

element “Back to Top” appearing in the bottom right corner

of the page. Don’t forget to localize key

[MobileSite.BackToTop], please.

Podcast / RSS Page

Yet another missing page from Desktop

version has been added now to the

Responsive -- Podcast and RSS. As usual as

this is a new page, it contains a few new

localizations requiring translation, please

check [Responsive.RssPage.*] localization

keys in Pangea CMS | Settings | Site

Localization.

Note that any Section with the Responsive

Info Pages layout are now grouped under a

new menu item “Responsive Infopages”

We’re proud to announce an extended support for new social networks. Pangea 7.05 newly supports the

following social networks on responsive webs:

Mail.ru

Balatarin

Meneame

Reddit

Odnoklassniki

Also newly the “Follow us” widget supports Odnoklassniki network. If you want to set it up, feel free to

contact our support team via our Pangea Help Center portal.

Links to Program Index page from media page

Looking back, we had only possibility to display/ or not links to TV and radio programs at media pages. Now it

is possible to set up whether to have only TV or Radio programs displayed.

New Features – CMS & core apps

Email this article – we’re

following the same approach in

sharing an article via email as

implemented on the responsive

web. Instead of complicated text

fields where user had to fill

email, subject, body and pass

CAPTCHA challenge, there’s a

link which opens client’s mail

client with prefilled mail body.

Email from Contact us form – we’ve slightly changed the format of the email by the Contact Us widget:

o Sender to noreply@rferl.org

o Subject to “Pangea Contact Us Widget”

o Added text “Somebody is trying to reach you via Pangea Contact Us widget. Please reply to: <email

from the form>” to body of email.

Pangea MAM -- introduction

As you may know, Pangea Team has been working on

this project for some months. The project have reached

now a level of maturity so it’s ready to be introduced

and implemented. Pangea MAM is a Multimedia Asset

Management, a tool for Video Producers that would

allow them to organize files and metadata all in one

place. It is very collaborative, where assets can be

shared, edited, cropped and repackaged. Producers can

also add notation and organize for the final production.

Major MAM features:

Fully responsive web Interface is accessible anywhere from any device, Mobile, Tablet and PC.

All video files at the tip of your fingers, just type it and

you'll find it. Pangea MAM also supports all BBG

Languages.

Basic Video editing and notation to never forget a good shot.

Frame Accurate Player

and with support of Adobe

Premiere Shortcuts.
