Founded originally as Fairfield Medical Products in the late 1960’s Paladin has a history of clinical expertise.
Paladin products aredesigned to retrofit on toexisting Fairfield Railinstallations.
We have a long history of: * Clinical interface * Problem solving * Exceeding client expectations
Infection Control has been a high design focus ever since theproduct was developed.

Shared Responsibility
We have a shared responsibility to provide a design with technology giving clinicians control over their environments AFTER THE FACT of construction and installation.
After the completion of construction, clinical teams are left to “deal” with whatever was conceived during the design process. They should be given tools to “manage” the environment.
![Page 4: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
Technology Integration:
Those who get it…..
Stryker
Healthcare Facilities
Seamless integration of various technology.
These companies have integrated a rail system as a standard in many of their applications. Each supports the other with a basic common element, the equipment rail.
Humanscale
![Page 5: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
A seamless approach to equipment management.
You can attach the rail on to anything….and
you can attach anything on to the rail
![Page 6: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Triangle Of Care, the relationship between Caregiver, Patientand Technology must be kept in the forefront of everything we do.
![Page 7: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
With that in mind . . .
We have Good news, and we have Bad
news!
![Page 8: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
The Good News is that after a construction or renovation project,
you will move into a new environment and will have
new carpeting, new lighting, new furniture and new wallpaper etc.
![Page 9: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
“Utopia General Hospital” The goal of every design professional.
![Page 10: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
The Bad News comes in the form of a question:
Can you name one hose, tube, cable or wire that is
going to go away just because you are moving
into a new unit?
![Page 11: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)

A hose and a tube today, will still be a hose and tube, the day you move into the new unit.

Architectural systems will be challenged to touch upon all aspects of healthcare delivery, not only today, but through the lifecycle of the areas in question.
What contribution will choosing an equipment management system make to my hospital over time?
![Page 15: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Process Improvement Today
There are several proven varieties of integrated process improvement to extend the lessons of the original Toyota “Kaizan” program into healthcare facilities.
At a clinical level, the basic key elements of process improvement are as simple as providing:
WHAT you need….WHERE you need it andWHEN you need it.
Integration of a rail and accessories program is the perfect facilitator for process improvement initiatives, even if not in place at the time of design.
![Page 16: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Integration of Equipment Rail in to aesthetic design. Simple and unobtrusiveis key to preserving the value of the owner’s investment
![Page 17: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Finding a balance between form and function, Paladin Equipment Management Rail allows the design team to incorporate any Wilsonart color into the equipment rail solution.
![Page 18: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT AND INFECTION CONTROL APPLICATIONS
![Page 19: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Traditional “norms”: Contractors spend hours aligning and attaching devices mandatory in patient care areas to the wall with “standard” anchor devices.
![Page 20: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
The resulting damage is seldom realized until changes are made, either through user demand or supply channel contract modifications
![Page 21: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
All too often we see issues we like to call the “Swiss Cheese Syndrome” ……common in almost every facility.
Corian
![Page 22: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
Also, the ever popularmagic gloves box trick.
Or the….”I didn’t think that double sided tape would stick that well.“
![Page 23: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
The stark reality of the damage, especially when made to dry wall or laminate, is both time consuming and costly from both repair and lost revenue points of view.
![Page 24: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
The utilization of rail and accessories for mounting hand sanitizers, wipes, sharps containers and paper towel dispensers achieves a major goal…..
…Obsolescence has been
obsoleted!!!!
![Page 25: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
As seen in Materials Management Magazine. Note the difference in set up over the sink between the picture on the left, and the one on the right.
EVIDENCE BASED SOLUTIONS:These changes took place after only 6 months from the opening of a 600 bed facility, and were made possible without shutting the rooms down, through the use of a rail system.
![Page 26: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)
The use of the rail takes the guess work away from the A & D component of the process. No longer does it matter what it looks like on paper….the users get to deploy the devices as they see fit, in the actual space it is being used.
![Page 27: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/27.jpg)
Architectural detail: Backing at 52” …..devices by others….the “EASY BUTTON” for architects and equipment planners alike.
![Page 28: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/28.jpg)
Additional rails may be added at any time should more space be required or technology changes.
![Page 29: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/29.jpg)
Non-code compliant modifications, leading to compromised safety issues.
If we do not provide adequate flexibility and adaptability on the front end of the design process, users will make it work some how.
![Page 30: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/30.jpg)
The bedside shown in the previous slide went from worst case scenario to best practice, economically and easily, with no disruption of patient care.
Simple expansion of services, on demand by the end user will guard against any unforeseen future technology.
![Page 31: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/31.jpg)
Gas expansion can be done NON-INVASIVELY by a simple addition of a gas block hose and connector to an existing in wall outlet.
Prepare for surge populations with the addition of rail and gas blocks to any waiting area supported by portable tanks.
![Page 32: Paladin sales presentation](https://reader034.fdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022042515/554b87feb4c90574668b4eaf/html5/thumbnails/32.jpg)
Blocks can be configured to meet existing supply configurations….any style outlet on any wall.

Splitter blocks can be added to existing outlets to multiply services and then taking the weight load of the actual flow meters and put them on the rail via gas blocks.
