since the company was founded
by Hans Wolf in 1975, hawo has
been manufacturing impulse and
heat sealers for a wide variety
of different uses. Later came
vacuum sealers, along with
test and labelling systems that
satisfy the strictest clean-room
standards. the emphasis lay on
supplying high-quality products
and covering every stage of the
packaging process with a variety
of accessories and services.
Inspired by our company values,
we have been synonymous with
safety, sustainability and respon-
sibility for over 40 years. All of our
innovations are therefore geared
towards the needs of our custom-
ers. Through constant dialogue with
our partners and feedback from our
customers, we have succeeded in
bringing the very highest-quality
products onto the market.
hawo products offer the ultimate in
convenient use and efficiency. our
products also speak an aesthetic
language of design intended to
make using them a pleasure. We
also started taking social respon-
sibility early on, and for years have
focused on resource-sparing de-
signs and sustainable construction
for our products that use a fraction
of the energy of similar devices.
And we do all this without any com-
promises in terms of sealing quality.
Taking responsibility and protecting
resources, as well as providing our
customers and the people around
us with expert, helpful and com-
prehensive advice has been our
pledge since the company was first
founded in 1975. We want to con-
tinue this success, even after more
than 40 years, and remain a reliable
and professional partner for sealing
and vacuum technology. That is our
mission.

We have developed a series of
technologies that can process
packaging-related information
automatically, making the use and
operation of sealing devices as
safe and straightforward as pos-
sible for their users. The functional
logos shown allow us to demon-
strate quickly which sealing or
vacuum sealer contains which
hawo technology.
DatamaticWith Datamatic, all process data can be saved to a
USB stick, and transferred to an independent computer
for further data processing. This function is already
available in many sealing devices and in the VeriDoc
system.
docLinkhawo sealing equipment with DocLink can be con-
nected via the integrated communications interface to
external computer systems. This supports bidirectional
communication (external machine operation and pro-
cess data capture).
IntelligentscanWith hawo IntelligentScan technology, all of the
device configurations required for all kinds of packag-
ing materials, printing and staff data, can be entered
in advance via the PC software. With the barcode
scanner, the hawo IntelligentScan technology
automatically assigns the scanned-in barcodes to
the device functions.
appCtrlUsing hawo’s unique control apps, all device and
programming functions can be called up directly.
Thanks to AppCtrl, operation and communication
become child‘s play.

The ISo 11607-2 standard requires processes
involved in the packaging of medical products to be
validated. During sealing, the critical process para-
meters must be monitured routinely.
The new ISo/TS 16775 provides guidelines for how
to carry out process validation. When validating the
sealing process, the optimum parameters are deter-
mined for the packaging material being used. The
process must then ensure the best possible sealing
seam under these parameter settings.
Professional sealing systems are therefore regarded
as essential for medically safe sealing during packag-
ing in clean-room environments. hawo offers the entire
product portfolio of vacuum, impulse and band seal-
ers that comply with the requirements of ISo 11607-2.
The models marked with a „V“ feature an integrated
function designed to monitor critical process para-
meters.
ValidatiOn OF Packaging PROceSSeS.
fontmaticon sealing machines with integrated printer, packag-
ing-related information can be printed directly on the
sterile product packaging so it is clearly visible to the
user. It is important in this context that the information
is also displayed in full. Sealing devices with patented
fontmatic technology recognise the width of the seal-
ing material and adapt the font size automatically to the
space available. Printing that goes beyond the edge is
therefore a thing of the past.
GrEENTeKenvironmental protection and sustainability are not an
end in themselves. During the last years, we have con-
sistently concentrated on resources-sparing design.
more and more hawo sealing devices are equipped
with completely new technology that uses a fraction
of the energy of similar devices. The standby function
or automatic switch-off when pulse systems are not
in use adds the finishing touch to hawo’s GreenTek
concept. And all this without any compromises in terms
of the quality of the sealing results

Vacuum chamber machines in stainless steel for the
evacuation and / or gas flushing of flexible plastic
packaging.
The hv 300 K-V mediVac vacuum chamber machine
has been developed to address the specialist needs
of the medical and pharmaceutical supplies (life sci-
ences) as well as industrial and consumer goods. It
guarantees GmP-compliant packaging in relation to
packaging quality and process reliability. The vacuum
and gas flushing time can be adjusted independently
of each other. The sealing and cooling temperature
can be set individually for the selected packaging ma-
terial. Precise temperature control ensures consistent
quality of the sealing seam. The machines are suitable
for high volume use in multi-shift operation.
The sealing process can be validated in accordance
with the requirements set out in eN ISo 11607-2.

makes menu navigation and data input especially
easy. Important information can be viewed quickly
and directly via the colour display:
> The data for 1,000 different operators can be
defined and password-protected.
> Up to 2,500 catalogue entries can easily be
programmed in via the touchscreen or read in
via a barcode scanner.
operation is made even easier thanks to the new
hawo IntelligentScan function: Individual specifications
for sealing and sealing parameters can be quickly
and easily programmed in for various materials. The
barcode lists can themselves be created individually
using the supplied software (e.g. various temperatures,
printing sequences, etc.).
INTeGRATeD PRINTeR.
The integrated printer enables process-related informa-
tion to be printed directly on the packaging (assuming
the materials are printable). Intelligent technologies
such as fontmatic, developed by hawo, for the auto-
matic adjustment of the film width, assist the user and
ensure a problem-free packaging process.
ReLIABILITY.
The hpl 3000 DC-V satisfies all process validation
requirements as defined in ISo 11607-2. The criti-
cal process parameters of temperature, throughput
speed (dwell) and contact pressure are continuously
monitored and displayed graphically on the LCD
touchscreen. The machine alerts the user to deviations
from the specified parameter with a visual and audible
prompt.
A selective operating lock offers additional security:
Individual configuration functions, for example after
process qualification (PQ), can be deactivated so that
only the current process parameters can be viewed
by the operator.

The high sealing speed of 7.5 m/min (295 inch/min),
the exactly adjustable sealing temperature and a
sealing seam width of 12 mm (0.47 inch) ensure a
constantly high quality of the sealing results even for
very high packaging quantities.
The feed-rail with the adjustable bag support makes
the insertion of the bags very easy and guarantees
a secure guiding of the product. The bags and
stand-up pouches are inserted in an upright position

hpl 500 D/D-VBAND SeALeR.
The band sealer (without contact pressure system) is
ideal for sealing thermoplastic polymer films. Packag-
ing with the hpl 500 D / D-V offers maximum protection
for the packaged item during transport and storage
and complies with the strictest safety standards. The
model hpl 500 D-V (V = validation-compatible process)
monitors the critical process parameters of tempera-
ture and speed (dwell). This makes the sealing process
of the hpl 500 D-V validatable. It also features an RS
232 interface for connection to external documentation
systems.
Thanks to the 6 mm (0.24 inch) wide sealing seam, it is
also ideal for packaging medical products with thermo-
plastic film (such as header bags; not suitable for
packaging in accordance with ISo 11607-1 (eN 868-4,
5, 9, 10). Rotary mode has a constant speed of 10 m/
min (33 ft/min), achieving a high throughput rate.

The hpl WSZ heat sealing tongs seal heat-sealable
films and materials such as coated aluminium film,
coated paper or painted cellophane easily and regard-
less of location. With the hpl WSZ TB design, the seal-
ing material is stopped from sticking by a PTfe coating
on the sealing rails. A 12 mm (0.47 inch) ripped seal
and constant temperature distribution over both sealing
bars ensure a fast and reliable sealing process. An
optionally available table clamp means that the tongs
can also be used as a static table model. The tongs
are available in bar widths of 20, 30 and 40 cm (8, 12
and 16 inches).
examples of use:

The hpl ISZ impulse sealing tongs seal any type of
thermoplastic plastic film and aluminium laminate
film. The sealing time can be easily adjusted on the
“W.I.N.G” impulse power pack which can be set up
separately. Thanks to the impulse process, the device
is very cost-effective since it only draws power when
it is being used (hawo GreenTek). A 3 mm (0.12 inch)
wide sealing seam and constant temperature distribu-
tion over both sealing bars ensure a fast and reliable
sealing process. The sealing impulse is generated
automatically once the tongs are closed and switches
off automatically once the sealing time is reached. An
optionally available table clamp means that the tongs
can also be used as a static table model. The tongs
are available in bar widths of 20, 30, 45 and 63 cm (8,

The hawo L-sealer designed for professional applica-
tions, is suitable for continuous use and guarantees
optimum lock safety.
After the frame has been closed the machine will hold
the sealing pressure until the end of the packag-
ing process. The sealing results are consistent and
produce identical results every time because they
cannot be influenced by the operator. At the end of the
packaging process the frame will open automatically.
This optimised human-machine interface allows the
operator to prepare the next item to be packaged on
the integrated workspace while the unit is sealing.
The variable table with height
and depth adjustment allows you
to adapt the size of the packaging
to the different product sizes without
changing the film roll (from approx.

The impulse large-scale sealers seal any type of
thermoplastic film up to a thickness of 4 x 0.15 mm
(4 x 0,006 inch) gusseted and are therefore ideal for
large dust covers (e.g. for palleting). The sealing time
can be easily adjusted on the “W.I.N.G” impulse power
pack which can be set up separately. An integrated
cutting device allows the film length to be easily
adjusted to the product being packaged. Thanks to
the impulse process, the device is very cost-effective
since it only draws power when it is being used (hawo

constant contact pressure using two precision cams
and even temperature distribution over the entire width
ensure a fast and reliable sealing process.
Simple operation is effected by repositioning one of

The hawo InkTest is a classic test method for detect-
ing seal leaks in porous medical packaging by dye
penetration as per ISo 11607-1 and ASTm f1929. To
do this, a special test fluid is pipetted into the pouch
or film tube. Any irregularities (e.g. channels) therefore
become immediately visible. Thanks to the practical
pipette, sealing seams can be tested from both sides.
The hawo InkTest comes in a 75 ml bottle with the eye-

the connected label printer and printed. No additional
computer peripheral equipment is required to record
important packaging information and print it onto a
label. even when the print server is switched off, all of
the data recorded via the barcode scanner is retained
and the production and expiry dates are updated
automatically. VeriDoc-I is therefore the perfect addition
to existing packaging solutions.
