Holiday Excellence Store Opens Soon!
The Boyd Holiday store will be beginning the 11th year of operation starting Monday
December 5th. The Boyd Holiday store is unique in the fact that no money is required
to shop there! Instead of money a teacher sends students based on behavior, no tardi-
ness, homework completed and good citizenship. Your student may come home anytime
with a package wrapped for someone special in your house from the 6th—15th! If they
do, please congratulate them on working hard in class so that they could come and shop.
Because the Boyd Holiday shop is run entirely on donations, if you have any gently used
household items that you would like to contribute, we would love that. We appreciate
your donations, but would prefer no toys or clothing. Or if you have some time you
would like to donate and you are a district approved volunteer, please contact Mrs.
Puterbaugh at 972-272-0821 or email her at
The goal of the Holiday Excellence Store is to provide an oppor-
tunity for students to make purchases based on their good behav-
ior. There is one rule – students are not allowed to buy gifts for
themselves. We want to teach our students that it is better to give
than receive ….especially at this time of year.
Boyd Artists at Work
Mrs. Henderson is proud to announce that the following artists had their artwork chosen
for ARTROPOLIS; our district-wide Fall Elementary Art Show! Please come by the
Blue House Too Art Gallery located in Watter’s Creek (across from DSW) to see fantas-
tic art work by our Boyd artists as well as pieces from other schools in the district. De-
tails of the show, including times that the gallery is open to the public, are included in a
flyer in this bulletin.

Boyd Students Show that we CAN do it!
During the “Commitment to Community” food drive Boyd students and
staff went above and beyond to show their compassion. Our goal was to
collect 450 cans. When the final count was done we actually collected 788
CANS!! Thank you to our Boyd family for your generous contributions.
The food drive will provide Thanksgiving meals to families who otherwise
would not have a traditional Thanksgiving.
Once again, Boyd families show how much they CAN do for others!
