Oxycombustion project at the IIE
• Construction of a 35 kW furnace,
• Oxycombustion tests of fossil fuels:
– Ignition, flame stability, flame temperature, heat transfer, unburned carbon,
• Provide technical and economical information associated to the oxyfuel technology to the Mexican Energy Sector,
Characteristics of the 35 kW oxyfuel furnace
• Horizontal firing, single burner, refractory lined and water cooled,
• Length 1.2 m and 0.4 internal diameter,
• Combustion air and gases recycled temperature up to 300 oC,
• Oxy combustion with synthetic gases,
• Oxyfuel with recycled gases,
• Recently, it was integrated a swirl generator for the burner,
