    Advertising Requirements

    The Owens Corning logo or Platinum Preferred Contractor logo. Use of the Owens Corning logo must be approved by Local Marketing Advantage before printing. If The Pink Panther™ is used, it must appear with the Owens Corning or Platinum Preferred Contractor logo, and must be submitted for approval before printing. The MGM legal line and other required disclaimers vary with context and must be approved by MGM, Local Marketing Advantage and Legal before printing.

    Covered Advertising Costs

    Promo funds can be used for ad space showing Owens Corning brand roofing products. For ads featuring competitive brands, Owens Corning will pay for actual ad space devoted to qualifying Owens Corning products, plus a prorated share of the headline and signature.

    Local radio and television with published rate cards and Internet advertising. Note: All other media must be pre-approved by Local Marketing Advantage.

    Advertising Requirements

    Radio: The Owens Corning name, with a description of Owens Corning product(s) and at least two uses or benefits. Radio scripts must be submitted for concept approval.

    Television: The Owens Corning logo or Platinum Preferred Contractor logo and one or more uses of product(s) or two or more product benefits. Television scripts must be submitted for concept approval. If The Pink Panther™ is used, a rough cut must be sent to MGM after the script has been approved.

    Internet: The Owens Corning logo or Platinum Preferred Contractor logo and all required disclaimers on your business website. If The Pink Panther™ is used, it must appear with the Owens Corning or Platinum Preferred Contractor logo, and must be submitted for approval before posting. The full MGM legal line must appear at the bottom of the homepage following the other required disclaimers.

    Covered Advertising Costs

    Promo funds can be used to pay the media cost of a broadcast commercial. Owens Corning will pay only for actual time devoted to qualifying Owens Corning products, plus a prorated share of the contractor tags, provided no competitive products are included.

    Proof of Performance

    Notarized ANA/RAB/TVB/CAB affidavit of performance from the radio or TV station printed on the bottom of the script copy. Copy of the net invoice for qualifying products and completed Reimbursement Request Form.

    Requirements for Eligible Advertising and Promotional ActivitiesTailor your own Platinum Preferred Contractor Promotional Plan by using the media that best fit your needs. This chart gives you guidelines to ensure that your advertising and promotions qualify for promotional dollars.     Owens Corning Logo Usage Guidelines

    All contractor material that co-brands with Owens Corning will need to include the following legal disclaimer in addition to any promotional, technical or warranty disclaimers:

    (Company Name) is an independent contractor and is not an affiliate of Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt, LLC or its affiliated companies.

    Exceptions are made for extremely small ads and apparel.

    Whenever the Owens Corning logo is used in contractor material, the relationship between Owens Corning and the contractor must be established by placing "Proud Installer of Owens Corning® Products” above the Owens Corning logo. Use of the Platinum Preferred Contractor logo does not need this positioning statement.

    COLORThe primary and approved logo color is red, Pantone 186. When used in one color applications and red is not available, the logo should be produced in black. If the logo is to be produced as a metal color, only silver is acceptable. Check with your vendor to ensure the correct values are used for your application.

    STAGINGGood “staging” is essential for the Owens Corning logo to stand out vividly in all visual communications. It should be separated on all sides from all other copy, photos or illustrations by a clear staging area the height of the cap “O” from the Owens Corning logo, as shown.

    Platinum Preferred Contractor Logo Usage Guidelines

    Owens Corning Logo Usage Guidelines

    BACKGROUND TREATMENTThe Owens Corning logo must clearly contrast with the background to maintain clarity and visual impact. Backgrounds on which the logo appear must be simple — avoid heavy and distracting patterns. Textured or photographic backgrounds should be light in color and complement the Owens Corning logo.

    Below are approved logo usage on both light and dark backgrounds. The white graphic elements in the logo must be maintained over the background color/image. Refer to page 11 for incorrect usage.

    Owens Corning Logo Usage Guidelines

    LOGOTYPEThe Owens Corning logotype is the Company name type treatment. In limited cases, when the Owens Corning logo cannot be used, the logotype may be substituted. Instances include use for small promotional items such as pens, or wearables with limited production capabilities or imprint space. The approved colors for the logotype are black, PMS 186, PMS Cool Gray 10, or white as shown below. The Owens Corning logotype is not to be recreated or typed using a similar or different font.

    Checklist for Using The Pink Panther™

    APPROVAL REQUESTI have sent an approval request with my final art layout in JPEG and PDF file formats to [email protected] for approval. I acknowledge that the standard turnaround time for MGM approval is 8 business days, and that I will not proceed with production until I receive email confirmation of my MGM approval. NOTE: The MGM legal line must be legible. A close-up of the legal line can be sent if a suitable format is not available.

    CONCEPT LAYOUTI have created the concept layout for my project. I have used the correct Pink Panther™ files, the current Owens Corning logo, and the correct MGM/Owens Corning legal line in my layout.

    MGM APPROVALI have received confirmation of MGM approval on my project. I can now continue onto production.

    • The process is to send all artwork to [email protected]. This ensures that all aspects of the submission are being reviewed for product accuracy, business strategy, photo usage, trademarks, claims and disclaimers. Local Marketing Advantage obtains MGM approval behind the scenes. Local Marketing Advantage is the single point of contact for contractors and distributors to ensure clear, consistent communication.

    • Local Marketing Advantage will assist you to ensure artwork meets MGM requirements and will obtain MGM approval for you. Please allow 8 business days for MGM to review material and an additional 8 days for any requested revisions.

    • The Owens Corning Proud Installer logo or Owens Corning Roofing Platinum Preferred Contractor logo needs to be closer to and in between The Pink Panther™ and any logo or verbiage of a non-Owens Corning entity. This includes contractor logos and any other logos, such as BBB, credit card images or industry certifications.

    • The Pink Panther™ may not be the focus of contractor material. The Owens Corning Proud Installer logo or Owens Corning Roofing Platinum Preferred Contractor logo need to be relatively the same size as The Pink Panther™.

    • The Pink Panther™ must have a purposeful relationship with the messaging rather than being a decoration.

    • The Pink Panther™ does not: – Speak – Use a thought bubble referring to contractor business – Touch a non-Owens Corning entity

    • The Pink Panther™ may not be incorporated into a contractor logo and may not touch any non-Owens Corning image such as a gift card, giveaway product or business owner.

    • No layouts or web pages using The Pink Panther™ will be approved if they feature ONLY a competitor’s logo. Owens Corning has exclusive licensing to the character in our product categories.

    • One of the following legal lines is required whenever The Pink Panther™ is shown, depending on the context:

    MGM Approval Request EmailEach time you create a layout including The Pink Panther™, please send a file of the final layout to [email protected] for MGM approval. Please submit a PDF file (preferred) or JPEG of the entire piece with the MGM legal line legible. When you send the request, please include:

    • Type of project: Ad, flyer, billboard, etc.

    • Audience: Employees, homeowners, trade, etc.

    NOTE: Please attach the JPEG or PDF file rather than embedding it into your email.

    This will give MGM the information they need to review the piece for approval. If you are submitting several pieces that support the same design campaign, you may submit all files in one request for approval of all pieces.

    IMPORTANT: Images of The Pink Panther™ will not be approved by themselves. They must be shown in context for each proposed layout. Example 1: If a graphic of The Pink Panther™ is approved, you must submit each item on which the graphic is placed. Example 2: If you have two ads with the same content but in two different sizes, each ad must be submitted.

    Usage of The Pink Panther™ by Medium

    Printed Advertising Materials:• Please design the layout concept following the usage

    rules and using current, approved art.

    Extended Warranty Inspection ProcessPost-installation workmanship inspections will be performed on selected registered Owens Corning Platinum Preferred and Preferred Protection Roofing System Limited warranties sold after December 1, 2015. If one of your projects is selected for inspection, you will be contacted by Owens Corning to schedule an inspection at the site. Homeowners must approve, but do not have to be present for the inspection.

    Pre-Qualifying Platinum Preferred Contractor InspectionsEach prospective Owens Corning Roofing Platinum Preferred Contractor will receive a workmanship inspection as part of the membership application process. To assure quality across the Network, all current Owens Corning Roofing Platinum Preferred Contractors received at least one inspection during 2017, and will receive at least one inspection every two years thereafter regardless of warranty sales.

    Excellent Customer Service Following the registration of every extended warranty, an independent third-party, GuildQuality, will conduct a brief homeowner survey to capture feedback on their overall experience. In addition to aggregated category ratings, Owens Corning Roofing Platinum and Preferred Contractors will have access to individual consumer responses and testimonials. These customer surveys also enhance our ability to support warranty obligations and improve the overall homeowner experience.

    How It WorksYou are responsible for making sure the warranty is registered within 60 days of installation; otherwise it becomes null and void. Once the job is complete, you can register in the Product Quality System (PQS) available through the OCConnect Resource Center.

    Warranties can only be used on single-family homes. Warranties for commercial projects or multi-family buildings must still be purchased on a per-square basis.

    The warranties you buy are only valid for installations during a specific calendar year and expire at the end of that same year. You will not be reimbursed for any unused prepaid warranties.

    • Click on "Warranties" on the dashboard or "Warranties" in the main navigation

    • Select "Register a Warranty"

    2. Go to warranty.owenscorning.com.

    • Click on “Professionals”• Enter your Username and Password• You will then be prompted by the PQS Home Page

    3. Once on the Product Quality System (PQS), select “Register Warranty” from the main screen. From here, you have the option of purchasing prepaid warranties, registering an extended warranty, registering a standard warranty, or even registering a warranty claim.

    4. Once your registration is completely filled out, you can continue to add the warranty registration to your OCConnect cart and proceed to check out. You have the option to purchase the warranty with either your program funds or even a credit card!

    5. The PQS will confirm when the registration has been successfully registered. All of your warranty registrations will be conveniently stored in your Order History for future reference.
