Debbie Youngman, former school and church

librarian will talk about her book, Laughter in

the Library, about the funny things children said

to her over the years.

Owen Minter will speak about his book,

Shrouded Sword, a sort of Authurian fantasy.

He is bringing his illustrator with him ~ an

unexpected treat.

Scholarships

VCLA is pleased to announce that we are

offering again for the fall conference

scholarships for first-time conference

attendees. The scholarships are intended to

bring church library workers to our conferences

for training and networking. This will also

introduce them to everything VCLA has to

offer. Financial assistance is available to help

offset some of the conference cost. The

scholarship application must be completed and

returned no later than September 15, 2021.

About the Authors

This Wonderland Weekend begins at

12:30 p.m. on Friday with registration, lunch

and stained glass window tours followed by

the opening at 1:30 p.m.

Dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m. followed by

a guest author, Debbie Youngman.

Saturday starts early at 8:00 a.m. followed by

classes, guest author, Owen Minter, VCLA

business meeting and ending with door prizes

and auction winners around 3:00 p.m.

Are you a person who likes to make crafts

such as quilts, afghans, needle point, floral

arrangements & wreaths, woodworking etc.?

Do you like to work in the kitchen baking

homemade goodies?

We are looking for donations for our auction.

Please bring your items to the Fellowship

Hall on the afternoon of Friday, October 15,

to the designated tables. The team will

organize all the items to be ready to start

bidding on Friday evening through Saturday

afternoon. All winners will be announced at

the end of the VCLA business meeting.

We will accept cash or checks (made

payable to VCLA) for the purchases.*

All proceeds will go to benefit the future

work of VCLA.

Conference Cost - $40 VCLA Members / $50 Non-Members

*Fee includes Registration, Lunch & Dinner Friday, Lunch Saturday and Snacks if registered by

September 15.

*Please note: If registered by September 15. Prices will be $20 more after this date.

The deadline to guarantee meals is September 30, 2021.

The cost for any additional guest attending will be $20 for meals.
