ECUADORIAN FOODThe Ecuadorian gastronomy has different natural regions that form the country: the coast region, the highland region, the Galapagos Islands and the amazon region. For this reason, the food has also a big variety, depending of in what place the tourist or visitor is, and the different dishes of each region are prepared by a wide range of ingredients, from seafood, up to meats, fruits and vegetables

COAST REGION» The principal ingredient of almost all the different dishes in the coast region is the green banana and it

has a lot of combinations like meat and seafood one of the more characteristic_dish_is “ Bolon de Verde “» As its own name says, “Bolon de Verde” consists of a ball of green banana that is prepared manually until

the mixture remains homogeneous and salt and some additional ingredient is added, as cheese or meat. (Fernandez Arenas , 2016)

» Maybe another important ingredient in the diet of people who lives in the coast region is the different types of fish and the most popular way of prepare it is the “ Encebollado” It’s a stew of fish with yucca and onion.

» “The stew that accompanies the fish is elaborated with liquefied yucca and it is possible other spices. The fish that is used to prepare this plate usually is the albacore, but it is also possible to use tuna or picudo. To accompany, it’s possible to serve rice, popcorn, juice of lemon, chili.” (Fernandez Arenas , 2016)

» The diet that exist in general in the coast region is almost the same that the people who lives in the Galapagos Islands has.

HIGHLAND REGION

» The Daily diet of the people who lives in the highland region is based on potatoes and corn each one whit a big variety of ways of preparation.

» One of the most popular dishes is the “Mote Pillo” that has its origins in Cuenca city.» It consists in corn that is fried with white onion, garlic, achiote, eggs, milk, and coriander or parsley

(Fernandez Arenas , 2016)» Another traditional dish is the “Llapingacho” and it has a lot of ingredients that are cultivated all

around the highland region.» The Llapingacho is done with potatoes cooked squashed with cheese and fried. Generally they are

served with sausage, salad, beet, eggs, and avocado. (Fernandez Arenas , 2016)

AMAZON REGION

» The principal ingredients in the daily diet of the people in the amazon region are the yucca, varieties of fish, meat of guanta and guatuza, Prepared of monkey and lizard they are the base of a nourishing and tasty food, which is accompanied with chicha de yucca. (Fernandez Arenas , 2016)

» Seco de Guanta : The ingredients of this popular dish are: meat of guanta, Vinegar, onion, Green pepper, garlic, parsley, peanut. (info., 2015)

» We have also “Pinchos de chontacuro” The chontacuros are worms and those are cooked and served with yucca and onion. (info., 2015)

There are many drinks are available, as are fresh juices made with papaya, pineapple, mango, maracuyá (passion fruit), naranjilla (a cross between an orange and a tomato),

Alcoholic Beverages

Most Ecuadorian wines are sweet and made from grape, apple, peach or other fruit; however, some good, dry wines are now being locally produced.

Beyond canelazo and aguardiente, Ecuadorian liqueurs are distinguished by their distinct use of sugar cane, spices and fruits. A few examples of fine liquors made in Ecuador include: Espíritu del Ecuador, a golden liquor that has a fruity flavor; Guarapo, made from sugar cane; and Anisados, a liquor flavored with anis. Secos is a cheap and flavorless alcohol good for mixing.

If you want buy something or you want travel to any place, always you can pay with cash , because some transactions are cash-only, is more easy and it hasn't problems.

It’s a new way for pay, its more secure and more easy, you can use this method only from your smartphone . For use this money you must have money in the your bank account.

DEBIT CARD CREDIT CARD

With this card you can buy something and buy of easy way because this card use the money that you have in your account, also you can use your debit card in an ATM to withdraw money of your account.

This card allows buy many things in shops or online , you can use this in all countries because these are accepted in any places , You can also use credit cards for balance transfers and taking out cash (also known as cash advance or cash withdrawal) from an ATM. Usually this one has a limited quota of money that you then it are paying

PERSONAL CHECKS TRAVELER’S CHECKS

This method is more used when the people have a lot of money in your account and they need money, they can use this personal checks for pay any things, it’s necessary that the owner of the account signs the check in order that this one become effective.

The traveler’s check is more used for the people that want travel to foreign countries. Is more secure because the owner is the unique person that can exchange this document.Is more used in other countries for example in Spain.
