Global Association

of the Exhibition Industry (UFI)

The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) is the world's most prestigious network in the exhibition industry, bringing together 534 trade fair organizations from 204 cities in 84 countries on 6 continents. It was founded in Milan, Italy on 15 April 1925 by 20 leading European trade fairs.

UFI is the only organization that has the right to recognize fair events as international. UFI members organize more than 4000 exhibitions and fairs a year with over 1 million participants and 150 million visitors.

International Fair Plovdiv was accepted as a full member of UFI on December 10, 1936. At present International Fair Plovdiv has five events, approved by UFI: International Technical Fair (approved in 1936); International Agricultural Exhibition “Agra” (1995); International Exhibition of Vine Growing and Wine Producing “Vinaria” (1997); International Exhibition “Medicus, Dento, Galenia” (2000); International Exhibition “Foodtech” (2003).

In partnership with UFI, we organize the world's only fair poster competition that promotes the art of graphic design and its contribution to the development of business. The awards are presented at the annual UFI Congress, the biggest event in the exhibition industry.

Central European

Fair Alliance (CEFA)

The Central European Fair Alliance (CEFA) was founded in 1995 by the

exhibition centers in Bratislava, Brno, Budapest, Graz, Klagenfurt, Ljubljana,

Munich, Prague, Vienna, Zagreb. It was legitimized by UFI in 2002.

Today CEFA includes 21 fair organizations from 16 countries, which are

also members of UFI. They have created a network for mutual exchange of

information, experience and know-how. CEFA provides an opportunity for joint

marketing and PR activities, for continuous transfer of know-how and training.

International Fair Plovdiv has been a member of CEFA since 2003 and it

hosted the General Assembly of the Alliance in 2013.

International Exhibition

Statistics Union (CENTREX)

The International Exhibition Statistics Union (CENTREX) is the leading

organization of the exhibition industry in Central and Eastern Europe. It was

founded in 1997 and has been member of UFI since 1999.

CENTREX assists in providing objective, reliable and audited statistics to

help companies navigate the level and quality of exhibition events. The data is

available in the annual publications of the Union and on its website. It shows the

status of 20 exhibition centers in seven countries: Bulgaria, Poland, Romania,

Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

International Fair Plovdiv has been member of CENTREX since May 2009.
