2011 Holiday Special Edition

Happy Holidays& Best Wishes

from10th Ward Alderman John A. Pope & Staff.

What a year 2011 was. It was an election year, which momentarily divided our community and city, only to be brought together again in an unprecedented fashion though new events and fests. It gave people, including community members, new outlooks and awakenings to issues that may have been disregarded.

2011 brought fallow, decades unused land to a state that is now being rejuvenated and reused. Brownfields and otherwise unusable industrial lands are finally being put back to use as in the days of the old steel mills. The productivity is giving our community, city and country a fantastic push in getting the unemployed back to work.

This year Our Neighborhood Times brought you a battle of the bands competition and a 3-day fest that hasn’t been seen in our community in over a decade. With the many accomplishments ONT has been able to bring the community this year, many can be

accredited to the ONT team, sponsors and friends that have been made along the road. There was not always a helping hand or believer in the events we were able to accomplish, but they were that extra push we needed to prove them wrong.

We would like to thank each and every one of our readers, supporters, staff and family members for the encouragement and understanding. With out all of them, there is no Our Neighborhood Times. This is our neighborhood, this is our paper, we are Our Neighborhood Times and we are here for you. We look forward to all that 2012 has in store and hope to bring even more events to our community.
