Why Should We Give of Our Time, Talent and Treasure?

First Sunday of Lent The waters of Baptism make us part of the new covenant in Christ. But the bishops’ pastoral letter on stewardship reminds us that “there is a fundamental obligation arising from the Sacrament of Baptism...that people place their gifts, their resources - their selves - at God’s service in and through the Church.”

Preparing for Next Sunday Second Sunday of Lent

The first reading recalls Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac. In the second reading from Romans, we are reminded once again that if God is for us, who can be against us? The Gospel recounts the Transfiguration wherein Jesus’ identity as the Son of God is confirmed.

Confirmation Spaghetti Thank You! A big thank you to all of the parishioners who supported the annual spaghetti fundraisers. The proceeds raised will benefit the Confirmation II Retreat 2015. It wouldn't have been possible with out the many volunteers, especially the Confirmation II parents. We look forward to seeing you again next year. Confirmation II Retreat 2015 Orientation Mandatory Confirmation II Retreat 2015 Orientation will be held on Sunday, March 1 at 10:30 AM or 1:30 PM in the Parish Center. This is required for all Confirmation II candidates and parents. If the parents are not able to attend, the sponsor may substitute in their absence. Please do not bring small children. Adore: Good Talk Series Join the Confirmation II candidates on Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00 PM at the Catholic Charismatic Center (1949 Cullen Blvd, Houston, Texasx 77023) as we take a walk through the entire Sermon. Enter in with us as we become more than “hearers of this Word” and become “doers also”. It’s more than just a Good Talk. What are the characteristics of a great talk or speech? The Sermon on the Mount has often been called the greatest sermon ever preached. But what makes it so? Was it a cool story? A funny illustration? Or was it the content and authority of the preacher? Occupying three chapters in Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus lays out the fundamental teaching of what it means to be a true follower.

OLMC School News Party for Super Sellers! As part of our appreciation for our students and community members, students were treated with an appreciation party for their part in raising funds for the school. They were treated with cake, ice cream, pop corn, sodas and other snacks! The children had a great time! We would like to thank all those parents who also helped out with selling candy in helping to raise funds for the school. God bless you.

Noticias de la Escuela OLMC Como parte de nuestro agradecimiento de nuestros alumnos y miembros de la comunidad, los estudiantes fueron premiados con una fiesta por su parte en recaudando fondos para la escuela. Medical technology has provided many life-saving discoveries over the years, but there is still no substitute for blood. In a medical emergency, often the most important element is the availability of blood. Blood donations can help a variety of individuals: trauma victims, surgery patients, premature babies, individuals with anemia, cancer patients and many more. Every donation can help save as many as three lives. Thank you!

Porque debo donar sangre? La tecnología médica ha proporcionado muchos descubrimientos para salvar vidas durante los últimos años, pero todavía no hay sustituto para la sangre.
